Cory Wright, Laura Osiadacz retain their seats on Kittitas County Board of Commissioners 05/11/2020

Congratulations to Cory Wright and Laura Osiadacz! Thank you Cory for a campaign race which was civil and respectful. Thank you to my dear artist friend who designed my sign, and all of the community members and friends who encouraged me and inspired me... I did pretty ok with no campaign team 😊

I feel like it was an overall success and I accomplished what I set out to do: give my community members a choice in who serves them, serve my community however I can, and maintain my integrity and soul. I learned so much and had so many memorable experiences. Thank you πŸ’–

If you are going to campaign, you may as well have some fun and try to make your community smile.

I am so grateful to have been able to get driven around Ellensburg in this original Number 4 Ellensburg Firetruck (convertible none-the-less).

We’ll be going out again Wednesday a bit after 4pm. If you are stuck in your home in Ellensburg feel free to come outside and wave!

Happy October neighbors!

This has been an eye-opening and enriching experience. I began willing to serve the community that I love. As I have walked down this path I am reassured by the people who live here. Mt Stuart Range is a gorgeous backdrop to the natural treasures in this valley, but just as stunning are the hearts, minds, and dedication of the people who live here.

Probably one of the best campaign experiences I could hope for :)

FISH is so blessed to be a part of such a caring community. Thank you Kristin Ashley for supporting the future farmers and nourishing our neighbors with wholesome, hand raised pork.

Thank you Dylan Cook for raising such a beautiful hog that will feed so many families, individuals, seniors, and veterans, OUR NEIGHBORS, this winter!

I could not be more grateful to have participated in this experience. Thank you Dylan Cook for raising such a fine hog!

The 277 pound swine was incredible! We were able to donate 164 pounds of pork to the FISH food bank to feed our community!!

Good job Dylan Cook! You are amazing!!

To claim to be something to others has weight and responsibility.

It demands that you truly represent to others what you claim to be. If I was a medic who could not save lives I would no longer get to call myself a medic.

When we say we are something we are taking on the responsibility to represent what that looks like to everyone. This has been an inspiring challenge as I campaign for county commissioner.

What do I believe an elected local leader should look like?

I would like to live in a place where we elect our officials by how much they give back, how well they listen, and their heart to serve. This process has inspired me to send in my application to be a volunteer firefighter, to volunteer for every work party I can realistically make it to, ask the youth what they want to see for their future, and examine my heart fully.

I live in a wonderful place filled with good people and they deserve the very best.

If you are willing to participate, communicate, and share the information that you hold- I will listen and we can build an incredible future . The best path forward is built with a collaboration of all of our skills, knowledge and experience.

"These are my steers Spotty & Fluffy. I bought them in September and have been working hard for months feeding and working with them to get them ready to show. Showing cattle is a lot of hard work...but I love it! This year I’m really going to miss the whole experience of getting up super early to get my steers ready to show, and hanging out with all my friends. Thank you to the Fair Board, Livestock Committee, 4-H Leaders, and Volunteers for your time in helping put on the virtual show and sale!" -Hadlee Hanson
While she wont be able to show in person this year, she will be able to market her steers at the Kittitas County Virtual Jr. Livestock Sale. You can help support Hadlee and other 4-H and FFA youth in a variety of ways: add-on money for specific exhibitors, purchase an animal on September 4 or donate to a fund that will help boost up the prices for lower selling animals. It was never by my individual effort that I earned any of these coins. It was our hard work and determination to accomplish missions as a team.

It was the willingness to not only accomplish my own tasks, but to recognize that my efficiency at my task allowed me then to help others with theirs so that we could all be successful together.

There were times when my team supported me. Literally holding me up in formation with tight packed bodies as I struggled to keep my eyes open after our 50k ruck march around a mountain in Fort Irwin.

That is why we are excellent. That is what we are as Americans. We unite together to support each other and band together to support our weary.

Our mission is to build a bright future for generations to come. Liberty, Freedom, and Justice for ALL.

I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.

Whether you have served with me or not, you are a fellow American and I will support you.

Do you support our police in Kittitas County? πŸš”

Did you know that there is a 1/10th of 1% Mental Health Sales Tax that the County Commissioners could pass without waiting for a vote that supports our police?

It has been on the table for 2 years now and supports our police by investing upstream to prevent people from reaching a point of crises and reducing the number of mental health related calls that police have to respond to. Decreased mental health calls increase police officer safety.

The plan is to use 35% of the generated revenue to support Kittitas County Corrections to help inmates get the tools that they need to become healthier parents and strengthen families preventing recidivism for the parent and providing a stronger foundation for the children. 35% will be used in Kittitas County Schools to help our youth and strengthen families, currently 1 in 4 of our 10th grade students in this county has a su***de plan. 20% of the funds would be used for crises response which would help our Emergency Services. 10% would be used for education and awareness to support our neighbors to pursue mental health assistance before reaching a point of crises.

Every leader that I have spoken to throughout our police departments, emergency response services, and medical services feels that this revenue would allow them to do their job with more safety and support.

We can ask our county commissioners to pass this tax. It is only .10 for every $100, there is a good plan in place for the money generated, and it not only supports our police but strengthens families throughout our community which has lasting positive ripples for generations to come.

Let’s make some noise to support our police in a way that will make their job more safe!

Investing in the virtual auction of hogs, steers, goats and sheep that the local 4H and FFA youth have raised is a direct donation to farming education in our community.

I will be purchasing a steer and donating the meat to FISH food bank.

I would love to see our community members also participate in the virtual auction. Even if unable to purchase an entire animal it is possible to participate by raising the price for animals with lower bids to lift the young farmer’s morale.

If you do want to participate in the auction it is imperative to sign up soon!

I love our open spaces in this county.

To create space for future generations we need to build economic engines like the airport business park within our community to support higher wage paying jobs so that our children can afford to buy houses and properties in our county, conserve existing farmland and public lands, and allow farming and ranching to become as lucrative as they possibly can.

Let’s work hard to build the brightest future for generations to come.

I love Kittitas County and I will work hard to support farmers and ranchers of today and the future by sharing opportunities to conserve existing farmland, exploring creative solutions for sustainable growth and profitability, and educating the general public about what our food producers do and why they do it.

The better we are at sharing our stories and understanding different perspectives the stronger we will be moving forward. People who meet the hard workers making food happen will be more apt to vote with those people in mind.

Let’s support farming education and the local 4H youth. Contact me to learn more.

Feel moooved to donate to my campaign?

I'm going to do everything I can to ensure that our future leaders in this community are supported and successful. Donations will help me with the purchase of at least one animal from local 4H youth.

These future leaders have dedicated time and energy tending these animals and face the challenge of a virtual auction due to the fair being cancelled to keep our neighbors safe.

I will donate the meat to FISH food bank and/or Apoyo.

My full-bird coin for service in 11th Armored Calvary Regiment in Fort Irwin California.

Officers and higher enlisted leaders were always paying attention and would randomly hand out coins if they were impressed by lower enlisted soldiers. When out for a beer whomever held the highest ranking coin was able to have their drink paid for.

Dedication and service matter even when you don’t think you are being watched. Especially in those instances when you don’t think you are observed.

In Kittitas County our medical professionals are going above and beyond in support of our elderly population. Our mental health professionals are overworked and under appreciated. We need to address the needs of our community’s service members. We can support mental health professionals, medical staff, and emergency services to include the police departments by supporting them with additional mental health support.

Let’s support the people who are doing the right thing and working their tail ends off to support us even when we aren’t paying attention and without the promise of celebration of their hard work.

Law enforcement leaders on the Kittitas shooting that claimed one deputy's life 08/08/2020

It is important that we can state, "Black lives matter." We desperately need to ensure that marginalized populations of people feel safe and welcome in our communities.

It is important to understand how each of our communities can participate and where we can improve.

In Kittitas County we have incredible police departments. These officers are committed to becoming Peace Officers and their training does not end with the police academy. These neighbors of ours who serve our community and lay their lives on the line invest their funds in deescalation training, implicit bias training, and mental health. Our departments have been championing the idea of improved mental health services so that they can better serve our community before anyone even asked them.

The Kittitas Police Department has a meager total budget of less than 330,000 dollars and they still found the ability to find funding for every officer to have a body camera a year ago. Before anyone ever asked them to, because they pursued accountability and improvement. The chief of that police department is the second speaker in this clip, he had no notes, and had just seen the footage of a tragic event in my community which took one of our finest, and shattered the femur of a dedicated police officer still in training.

My Army Medic colleagues know: if your femur is shattered it is an excruciating and debilitating injury. The quadriceps and hamstrings are shredded as the muscles contract shearing muscle with your own shattered femur fragments. Despite this trauma and the lasting damage, the officer who experienced it is still dedicated to serve our community.

Be Kind.

A little over a year ago, the police officers in my community had to experience this devastating tragedy. These are our neighbors, these are people who dedicated their lives to keep our streets safe. They want to support diversity, inclusion, and equity. There is always room for improvement, we are human. In our community please see the men behind the badge. They are truly heroes.

Thank you for keeping us safe. Thank you for your constant pursuit of improvement. Thank you for having the emotional intelligence to respond the way that you do in the face of criticism even as you still mourn one of your own.

Our police officers are examples for the nation of what it looks like to be servants of their community and keep the peace. We were sheltered from racism as white people in Ellensburg, we have a lot to learn, but we are willing to put in the time to do it. We need the space to grow and develop our ability to understand the racism that we didn't see.

Return of Oscar 827 to U.S. Army, Part 3 29/07/2020

Grateful to have been able to be part of this experience.

I was volunteered for the National Colors Color Guard in Fort Irwin because I had requested to take college courses in my "free time". I was efficient in accomplishing my regular tasks and missions which left me with my evenings and some weekends. My Non Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC) determined that if I had enough time for classes, I must have enough time for the Color Guard, live fire weapons qualification range coverage, and representation of our unit, her husbands unit, and our entire installation in various 10-mile races. I was able to accomplish all of the above as well as the requirements of 3 college courses while stationed in the National Training Center for soldiers, Fort Irwin California.

I received two A"s and one disappointing "B" grade. The "B" because I had to miss the Speech final due to a 2-week field exercise to assist in training Explosive Ordinance Detonator specialists prior to deployment.

It feels strange to tell my stories, but as a voter I would like to know who the candidates are.

I can work collaboratively to accomplish the necessary tasks and missions while pushing myself to go above and beyond. I have served my neighbors abroad and throughout the country, now I get to bring those skills home.

If you have questions or comments or want to share stories I'll be at the Farmer's Market this Saturday, and I volunteer at the Republican Headquarters every Tuesday from 1-3 pm.

My first crush experience was hard and sticky work, but more than worth it.

My degree in Global Wine Studies equipped me with the skills to understand agricultural business. Especially value added agricultural products, selling experiences, and diversification into direct to consumer sales.

Only 10% of our farms sell direct to consumer currently and there is opportunity to increase profit margins by at least 30% compared to wholesale for distribution.

Let’s work hard for a future where farmers can easily make a living and can have lucrative careers!

Thank you to the Kittitas County Police for protecting our community members in new and novel ways. Communication and education for those of us you serve is always appreciated!!!

The sun is shining today and gave a preview of what our officers tan lines will look like due to the mask requirements. We will not be arresting people without masks but we wanted to address some issues. If you enter a store without a mask and they ask you to leave, you have to leave. It’s their right to refuse you service and you would be arrested for trespassing. The same logic applies for a public building while the mask requirement is in effect. Please don’t come to city hall and throw a fit because our clerks ask you to wear a mask, we all just want to get through this and live our lives. So basically, don’t be a jerk, respect other people’s rights if they ask you to leave and be thankful you don’t have to wear a heavy black uniform and a thick black mask in this sunshine πŸ₯΅
