Curb Appeal: Curb Chairman Mike Curb continues his longtime financial support of Nashville's Belmont University with a new, $58 million gift via his Mike Curb Foundation. Directed to the school's Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, the donation – the largest in the University's history – will fund the campus' further expansion on Music Row. Renovation of the Buddy Lee Attractions/Capitol Records building at 38 Music Square East is already underway. When completed, it will encompass 17,000 square feet of songwriting rooms, listening spaces, classrooms and student lounges, as well as housing new offices for Leadership Music. A second phase of development will see construction of a 75,000-square-foot building housing a 150-person capacity performance venue, a coffee shop, content capture rooms and underground parking.

A Big Happy 89th Birthday to my friend whom I happened to meet when I worked sessions out of A&M Records. I was introduced to Herb by studio boss, Donnie Hahn.

Out of any musician, record executive or music industry figure; Herb has always been my favorite.

He started from the absolute bottom and worked his way up to not only becoming a legend but an icon in the music field.
