Posted • Julia Fredricksen • Still in denial that 1999 is already over, and here we are a week into 2024. 🤷🏻♀️
My only real plan for this year is to just be who God created me to be.
You’d think that wouldn’t require a planner, but it actually requires multiple to keep me on track with my roles as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. They keep me organized (at least on paper 🫣), and they help me reach my goals for the year + measure my progress along the way.
My BEST TIPS FOR ENTREPRENEURS who want to start this year off on the right track:
1. Set no more than 3 major “SMART” goals for the year.
2. Write them down. Memorize them.
3. Work them backwards to build out your schedule with smaller objectives each month/week/day — these will help you achieve your annual goals.
4. Get to work!
SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely.

ever since getting sick over Thanksgiving weekend + it lasting for three weeks, i knew i needed to retreat, rest + recoup.
it was hard to miss special celebrations + connecting with friends, i didn’t host a single sale nor post much for the biggest retail gift giving season of the year (Christmas), but you know what…
that’s okay, because rest is productive • taking care of your body + mental health is productive • accepting that just because it might not happen today, doesn’t mean it won’t happen at all is productive.
this year i am committing to building new habits • i’ve started using a gratitude journal, wellness journal + a few other tools to decide what habits i want and need for the life i’d like to live. no more of “just getting by” or “surviving,” it’s 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣…let’s go (or rest)!

i cannot believe this day is already here • one year ago, i attended the conference for the first time as a participant. i had been on my Faith journey for a few years, had recently been baptized at and was excited to lean in + learn more. i attended by myself, but met some wonderful women that included me to sit with them, the speakers covered different topics + it was incredible to see their various styles of teaching / preaching that were all so impactful. i had a complete breakdown meeting because her story specifically resonated + felt so familiar. overall this event was something that took hold of my heart + the idea was placed on me to be a sponsor the following year.
now this past year has been full of financial struggles, mental struggles and there were multiple times i wondered if I should back-out. am i ready for this? can i afford doing this? is my small business even going to make it? but when these thoughts crossed my mind, i felt calm, took a deep breath + said to myself, you may not know how, but it will happen. i truly felt God placed it on my heart to participate in this event and there was no way i wasn’t going to believe in Him and see it through.

well y’all, sometimes life becomes a little crazy + you’ve just got to focus on getting by one day at a time.
these past five months have been full of extreme highs and extreme lows. there’s been job changes, friendship changes, new clients, a big corporate order, realizations about myself and others and everything in between. i’ve shared before that I struggle with mental health + that’s a huge reason why I started my business. thanks to the support of some really amazing women, restarting counseling and making some tough decisions, I was able to get through the most severe depressive episode I’ve ever had and finally feel like I’m going in the right direction again.
part of this means getting back on track with sharing my business on social media (my personal accounts are all gone)! now old me would be totally embarrassed to post this video (and more to come over the next week) as the audio + trend is outdated, but the new me says, too freakin bad! Lauren Romero + Pinkdoor Agency and I worked way to hard to create these reels so here we go…
hope this is a reminder that sometimes life gets you down, but it’s never too late to get back up, reset and do your best 🖤
