I usually done post stuff about my self and my accomplishments but I have exciting news.

This morning I received an email from the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA) regarding a scholarship/internship I applied for last semester. I worked very hard on this application, spending about two an half months on the essay alone.

I am extremely excited to announce I have received one of the 120-200 spots for this nationally competitive scholarship/internship!

The Hollings Scholarship Program provides successful undergraduate applicants with awards that include academic assistance (up to $9,500 per year) for two years of full-time study and a 10-week, full-time paid ($700/week) internship at a NOAA facility during the summer!

Once I complete my research in the 10 week internship, I will have the opportunity to present my research at 2 scientific conferences!

I am so excited to get started with this in the 2023 summer!

“Coral Reefs Smell of rotting flesh as they bleach. The riot of colors — yellow, violet, cerulean — fades to a ghostly white as the coral’s flesh goes translucent and falls off, leaving their skeletons underneath fuzzy with cobweb-like algae” (Page 58)

I just put an essay onto my ePortfolio that I would really love for all of you to read. It discusses climate change and the effect it has on people, the environment and specifically your children and my generation. Here is the first couple lines for you to read:

"How could you,

How could you steal away my children's future — The issue of climate change can be talked about in a variety of different manners, schemes and mechanisms that have the potential to captivate audiences and scientists. But, would you believe me if I were to suggest that we were talking about it with the wrong issue at its forefront?"

Just some casual baby tree selfies 🌳 I planted 34 trees and all together with the fellow volunteers a total of about 180 trees! This week the rest of the volunteers will plant 575 in total 🤯. This is all to support the the Land Conservancy of New Jersey! An amazing experience! 🔆
