Don’t be intimidated by mussels. If you can boil water, you can make mussels. ⁠

Just a few easy steps, along with our Hint Of Harissa, and you’ll be enjoying restaurant worthy-mussels in no time. ⁠

Here's the recipe--and don't forget to share this post with a fellow bivalve lover. ⁠

Serves: 4 ⁠
Total time: 20 min⁠

INGREDIENTS⁠
✓ 5 dozen fresh, live mussels⁠
✓ 2 cups coconut milk⁠
✓ 1/2 cup Bold Palate Hint Of Harissa ⁠
✓ 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced⁠
✓ 1/3 cup cilantro leaves⁠
✓ Salt and pepper, to taste⁠

DIRECTIONS⁠
To clean the mussels, put them in a large bowl with 2 quarts of water and the flour and soak for 30 minutes, or until the mussels disgorge any sand. Drain the mussels, then remove the "beard" from each with your fingers. If they're dirty, scrub the mussels with a brush under running water. Discard any mussels whose shells aren't tightly shut.⁠

In a large non-aluminum stockpot, bring the coconut milk, Hint of Harissa, and jalapenos to a boil over medium heat. ⁠

Add the mussels, stir well, then cover the pot, and cook over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, until all the mussels are opened (discard any that do not open).⁠

Pour the mussels and the sauce into a large bowl and serve hot. ⁠
