Don't let your attic suck. I just learned today my attic sucks. Here is how to spot a sucking attic and what it can do to your home. Do you have vents at the top of your roof and none at the bottom (eve's or gables.) You should have more vents at the bottom of your roof than the top and here's why. Warm air rises and the air leaving out the roof vents creates a negative pressure inside the attic and creates a sucking action on your home. It sucks from every hole in your ceiling and the walls of your home. It sucks the moist warm air right out of your home. Have you ever experienced a bloody nose or severe headache from the dry air? I have and it's not pleasant. There are even tests that can be done to find out if you are loosing your heat to your attic.
