Physique Update ⚡️

Woke up this morning at 203. The last two weeks have been focused on deloading and destressing. The first week I did 65% RPE with max testing on the big three, and this past week I took a week off completely.

Between starting and managing 2 businesses, getting laid off to fully self employed, selling our house, wife getting laid off and then a new job, plus everything else: It caught up to me. I noticed my workouts were actually keeping me more wired than usual and the stress was becoming constant with no mental break.

The past two weeks I prioritized nutrition, increased calories slightly, 9+ hours of sleep, walks, sunlight, limited the amount of meetings I set, and did activities to give me mental breaks. I did sauna more, breathing exercises, and journaling & meditation. This really helped pull my mental state back where it needs to be. I now have more clarity and perspective going forward.

Generally, I am not a fan of full off weeks. I try to view each situation through a client perspective and ask what would i recommend if they were in the same circumstance? And this protocol is exactly what I would suggest.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is actually take a step back so you can take 5 steps forward.

The average person does not hit their prime until they are 35-55. Time is the #1 factor when it comes to experience and sharpening your skill.

Eric Yuan, the founder of Zoom was 41 when he started the company. Stan Lee write his first comic right at 39 years old.

Reid Hoffman was 35 when he founded LinkedIn, and did not take the company public till 41. Jack Ma did not find Alibaba until he was 35. Jack also failed his college entrance exam 3 times and rejected from 30+ jobs. And of course colonel Sanders, who started KFC at 62 , when many would just call it a day.

You are not late or behind, just early in your own discovery and process. ❤️

No risk does not always equal no reward. Sometimes no risk has negative returns on investment.

When you work out 3-5 times a week, you are “risking” using that time elsewhere. It’s hard, it’s a commitment, and takes discipline. However the reward is a healthy body, mind, and a better quality of life. Not working out risks having poor health, being susceptible to diseases, and a short lifespan.

When you invest your money into stocks, real estate, etc: you are risking losing the current value for the dollar, if not more. The reward of investing over long periods of time is taking advantage of compound interest and having a few million when we retire. Saving money without investing some will inevitably hurt us long term.

We change jobs and careers for the chance to have upward mobility, more money, and more fulfillment. The risk is it may not be as great as you hoped, go to a company with bad culture, or even fired or laid off. If you stay in a job you are not really satisfied with and are not getting what you need, this risk is staying the same and limiting growth.

I am not suggesting to make some aggressive investments or or doing some risky moves. What I am recommending is taking calculated risks that will better enhance your life.

Shout out to for doing some much needed work on my left shoulder, lat, and chest! After one session we got some good mobility and malleability back to the muscles.

I have had a shoulder impingement for the last few years due to a couple car crashes and ego lifting in my early twenties. The reason it looks so crazy is due to all the trauma, scar tissue, and trapped blood that came to the surface.

Shout out to for killing it in in todays workout session!

TJ sells premium cheesecakes that he makes from scratch and puts a HEAVY amount of love into it. He sells a variety of different flavors, sizes, and is great for any occasion! Many times we forget that we are responsible for our own reality. It is not up to our partner, parents, friends, family, or society what we do with our one life.

Every single one of us has the opportunity to become and accomplish whatever we want in life. We just have to rewire our neural network to believe it is possible, (which it is.)

Kick this week in the teeth and start taking actions that align with the life you want!

to this 1 month transformation 5 years ago. I lost 20lbs in one month and saw an increase in overall fat free mass.

Knowing what I know now, I would change some of that process. Here is what I would not do:

❌ 2 hour workouts
❌ 1+ hour of steady state cardio daily
❌ Not prioritizing sleep/recovery
❌Dropping calories aggressively to quick
❌Only caring about the number on the scale

Fast forward to the present and 5 years later, my approach to programming is completely different. I put just as much attention into building your mental fortitude and resiliency along with your physical body.

Ever since I was an early teen I became very self conscious about my lower teeth. They always had bad crowding and always made me want to smile very lightly to not risk putting them on display.

With that being said, I am pretty stoked to finally be able to straighten my teeth with SmileDirectClub! I’ll give updates regularly throughout this journey so everyone can see live time feedback.

We never had the opportunity to get braces due to financial constraints growing up. One benefit of being an adult is getting to heal and fix all the things your younger self was never able to do!

Just getting started on your fitness journey and not sure what to buy at the grocery store? Zero to Hero has you covered!

This grocery list is great starting point for most individuals who are looking to improve their overall health, nutrition, lose body fat, and gain muscle!

The protein sources were specifically designed to have less fat content so that way they are leaner sources of meat. Protein is the most satiating macronutrient and will keep you full for longer. Protein is also what builds/repairs your muscles after a workout to be bigger and stronger!

Fat sources were kept to a select few options so you can add them in to fit whatever nutrition or macro plan you are on! Fat is the highest calorie dense macronutrient and is easy to over consume. They are important for hormone production and cellular function within the body.

The carbohydrates on this list are more complex in makeup. They generally have a lower glycemic index which helps mitigate blood sugar spikes, keeps sustained energy, and helps you stay fuller for longer.

Of course, we could not forget fruits and veggies! Vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals along with dietary fiber. This helps keep your gut healthy and system regular. Fruits are also high in vitamins, antioxidants, and are shown to help regulate blood sugar.

Hey Insta Fam!

By now I’m sure most of you know I am now on my own and building a coaching company, Zero to Hero coaching. One thing I have not mentioned is that my wife and I also started a rental business called Kelly Unlimited!

This RV was our first brand new big purchase being married, and is also the first rental item! I never had the opportunity to stay in or get to use an RV due to our financial circumstances growing up. But now I have the privilege to help others have great experiences and make long lasting memories!

I love building and creating businesses, the processes, the trial by fire, doing the dirty work, and everything else that comes with being in a startup environment and an entrepreneur. (That word is overused but makes sense for context here.

2 month update: Sitting at 222lbs on the left. The right is from this morning at 206.5

The goal has been to do a slower cut with the intention of preserving as much muscle mass as possible while dropping body fat. We are roughly 30 days out from our anticipated honeymoon date, however that may change with the me going on a new business venture.

2 weeks ago my wife and I were hit hard with some viral virus, which took us out of commission for a bit. This caused me to drop quite a few pounds which was a combination of fat and muscle sadly. 😒

If you are not seeing the definition in your legs that you desire, I would take a look at these 3 key areas:

Strength training- If you are wanting to see bigger and more defined legs, you need to esnure you have a proper weight lifting program for you legs. This will help the muscles grow thick and strong.

Cardio- This is a great way to help add definition to your legs. walking, jogging, biking, etc. You will help tone your legs and help keep your heart healthy.

Nutrition- We have all heard abs are made in the kitchen, sadly same for you legs. To really see the definition in your legs, you are going to have to lose body fat to really see that definition you are striving for.

While my legs may not be the biggest or the leanest on Instagram, they have improved quite a bit over the last couple years and I am very proud of them.
