We made it and today is the day - 30 Years!!!
August 3, 1993, we opened, and remember the 2 of us sitting there in our little 880 sq foot store, going "C'mon customers!"
First person came in, and Twila's son Brandon had put a plant in a mug, and we sold it for.....drum rolll...........
$8!!!
For our first 5 years we paid ourselves $600/month and then asked, "do we want a raise or a day off?" We opted for an employee. (I was on food stamps too)
Today is our 30th Anniversary, and what a blessing it has been to survive all these years.
We're planning on going to Society of American Florists Convention in Phoenix to hobnob with the largest florists in the USA- (lovely weather in Phoenix this time of year I hear...) September 6, to celebrate, if Twila's shoulder can hold out - it's discombobulated on her and she's waiting for a replacement.
SO - YAY!!!!!
