UPDATE: Yoga retreats are the Venn diagram of my life, where all the things I am passionate about intersect. Many incredible adventures on the horizon: Costa Rica (SOLD OUT), Croatia, Quimixto and Isla Mujeres, Mexico + Greece and Africa. Come adventure with us when you feel called 📞 ☎️...I'll be out here! https://www.jillknouseyoga.com/upcoming-retreats/

Below is a testimonial from a sweet soul who attended my first ever retreat 13 years ago, another one last summer and she is joining me to Costa Rica in April. 🎉

"Jill's yoga classes and retreats are not just about the physical practice. While Jill does offer an extraordinary yoga experience inclusive of all your favorite postures, she is really offering community, self-reflection through movement, play, and connection with a diverse group of people. I was blessed enough to know this first hand as one her students and attendees at her very first retreat over 13 years ago. What's even more exciting is Jill is still offering this wonderful opportunity through her retreats today. Blessed enough to follow Jill into the forest most recently for The Forest Bathing Retreat. It fed my body, my heart, and my soul with amazing food, old and new friends, and of course yoga. Jill brings joy to all those who meet her and I'm looking forwarding to joining her again on a retreat in 2023. - Jenn"

Thank you so much, Jenn. ❤️

Jan 2023. We comin for YOU Xinalani!! ♥️♥️♥️

Few things compare to rising with a gentle ocean breeze, warmth from the morning sun and your body wrapped in a beautiful veiled cocoon 💫

Pocas cosas se comparan a despertar con la brisa suave del océano, el calor de la mañana asoleada y tu cuerpo envuelto en un capullo de velos 💫

So happily, I was scheduled to meet with and this week in order to plan my return to teaching after a year of medical leave. Now, we all have bigger fish to fry. Joining together as a strong collective - a global collective - where my actions impact your health and your actions impact my health, is an enormous reminder of how we all need each other. How we are all connected. In the throes of isolation, I’ve never felt a greater sense of solidarity. We will continue planning my return to teaching and — and I can’t wait. Until that is possible, like so many other incredible teachers in our community, I’m working to record some videos and create a bit of online content. My Africa retreat allowed me to reconnect with sharing yoga again. It fueled a part of me that had moved to the side lines while I healed and processed some really big stuff. Coming back from that trip, I felt ready. So, I’ll do a thing or two in a new format and see if I might be able offer something that is soothing to your soul, that is grounding...something that reminds us that despite being at home, we are not alone...so, peace and love to you and yours. I’ll send the info on videos to my newsletter list + post something to social media when it’s available. Virtual hugs and all my love. 💗🌸💗

I saw this quote a couple days ago. It resonated. I’m not trying to be all cherry blossoms and butterflies during a really sh*tty time. And. After last year, dealing with cancer, the year before losing my dad unexpectedly...this feels true to me. Stay home. Stay safe. Love to you and yours. •

“As life becomes harder and more threatening, it also becomes richer, because the fewer expectations we have, the more the good things of life become unexpected gifts that we accept with gratitude.” - Etty Hillesu 🌸💗🌸

The updates today from hard hit places around the globe continue to pierce right through my heart. Pondering the vast number of human beings on the planet that are impacted and hurting at this time is overwhelming. Feeling helpless has a compounding effect. So we do what we feel we can to make even the smallest difference. At our house, we are significantly limiting our outings. We wash our hands so much they are cracking from dryness. We’ve halted attending all group gatherings. We’ve begun physically distancing ourselves as best we can when outside the home. AND, we are reaching out to friends + family who live solo, in the hopes they might feel a little less solo simply because they received a text or a phone call or a note in the mail. As a good friend brought to my attention...it doesn’t have to be social distancing...we can be social while physically distancing. Sending out all the virtual love and hugs I got. 💗

Pandemic

What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
Center down.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely, that has come clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise this world your love–
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
so long as we all shall live. –Lynn Ungar 3/11/20 Thank you for sharing 💗💗💗
