Five Kids and Five Dogs live here with their parents. The remodeled kitchen contains six additional cabinets plus two giant full height pantry units and a more functional countertop space. This one is a transformation in the greatest way!
West Des Moines project by K. Costello, a wonderful contractor/partner in most of these remodels I have been working on.
1970’s Starter home gets a Farmhouse style kitchen. Investing in the heart of the home was a smart idea. And upgrading the floors from laminate to solid Fossilized Bamboo from Cali was a serious finish upgrade. I love this upgrade!
How do you coordinate flooring? We really look at every aspect of the character you are trying to put into your remodel as well as the functionality in your particular circumstance, and the budget. I have done every kind of kitchen floor and have learned a lot along the way. To update your OAK Kitchen, blend your existing whole household oak doors and trim with style using less grainy maple cabinetry in kitchen and bath. Add a glaze to enhance the hue. If you have room for a pantry (where your desk used to be) you will maximize storage space. Updated features: a barn door pantry door, roll out trash and recycling, tall built in bins in the lazy susan for water bottles, and a large pantry with broom closet!!

How much stuff can you fit in your NEW PANTRY?
I've found that roll out trays are extremely beneficial when organizing. Be watchful that the height of the trays can be increased, and that the cabinet interior offers multiple adjustments for putting the trays at any height, easily.
