a love story for the books

i couldn’t be happier to know that caroline + kevin’s love story gets to be shared and treasured by so many + i feel so privileged to have been able to document their wedding day.

it feels like a dream to be able to say my work was published in the new york times + i couldn’t think of a more perfect love story for my work to go along with.

this lovely moment of being published happened while i was in italy to photograph a wedding (what is my life?!?) + all my lovely humans in new york sent me pictures + saved copies for me. my parents even posted on facebook looking for more copies + their high school friends mailed some to us 😭🥹

truly a privilege to say this is my job. i have such a difficult job conveying my gratitude and joy, so all i can really say is thank you, thank you, thank you 🫶

a timeless ceremony in a timeless city

a new york city hall elopement is one of the most unique and spectacular experiences ever, ever, ever!! nothing compares to standing in line for the metal detector with 10 different brides + grooms + lovers + domestic partners

i wanted to create a little white chapel vegas vibe on long island
february and march of 2023 i began brainstorming a crazy and absurd concept for an elopement. i wanted to create something that pushed my own limitations for what a “suitable” location would be. i wanted to be able to show my future clients that we can create beautiful magic anywhere and you can create an experience that is authentic to you and your story.

i wanted to create an environment that felt spontaneous and unique and authentic and timeless. soup cans on the back of the motorcycle, vintage playing cards from twa, 1950s makeup compacts, vintage lighters and ashtrays.

i learned how to dye fabric, dye shoes, create and sew a bustle on a vintage wedding dress. i researched what would be carried in women’s purses in the 1950s. i scoured ebay and etsy and thrift stores.

by the end of this journey, i met:
a lovely and stunning couple who drove their motorcycle down from pennsylvania to be our models
the perfect stationery designers who since then i have had the pleasure to book a wedding in october with + have one of my images included in their article with
a spectacular and incredibly kind florist who took all of my ideas and brought them to fruition
and an incredibly talented cake artist who created the cake i had only previously dreamed of

this vegas style elopement shoot has been a labor of love for a year now + i am so happy to say the final gallery is done and has been delivered to its forever home with the vendors who helped make this happen
