Sounds like conventional western medicine vs. Natural health and healing. Same song different verse. What's being sold to help: surgery, insoles, special shoes, etc...keeps you a customer for life, with temporary improvement, until the next issue crops up.
If you want to cure your foot ailments, follow this guy. If you want a quick fix that will cause additional pain later, keep on doing what you've been told by the mainstream society.
I just heard a podiatrist say they went through 8 years of college and 1 year of residency and was never once introduced to the idea that natural undeformed feet are widest at the tips of the toes.
They aren’t trained in conservative care.
They don’t get enough movement training.
They don’t study the long term implications of prevalent footwear traits.
We need to know this information when we go to foot professionals for help.
Better movement heals chronic loading issues.
The body want to heal itself.
It does not seek out dysfunction and brokenness.
We put it into situations where it’s likely to break down. We can change the situation to one of healing and thriving.
We need to take control of our own foot health.

LISTENING is the most important skill you can learn to improve the function of your feet.
We’ve shoved them in fashion shoes and IGNORED them for years. Now they are sore and injured.
The yellow lines are the direction I forced my toes into for 30 years. I ignored them and eventually they stopped asking for normal alignment.
Now I keep my toes in the purple line alignment.
I don’t wear a single shoe with this shape.
And they are telling me that they love their new shape. I’m listening very carefully now to every thing they say.
They tell me they love getting the toes spread out.
They like how I let the arch move instead of propping it up with arch support.
They like the new big toe abducted position.
They like feeling texture.
They like the full range of motion in all the joints.
They like how the muscles have increased in size.
Just reading the posts on this page means you are starting to listen to your feet.
If you listen they won’t steer you in the wrong direction.
What are your feet telling you today?
Just like every other area of health, the opposite of what we are told in the mainstream is actually true. Read this.
There are good loads and bad loads.
Find one way to load your feet with good stress today.
Good foot stress is movement that allows the foot to work like it’s designed, unaltered by human intervention.
That good, natural stress is done with the toes splayed, the heel even with the forefoot, the toes flat on the ground, the arch unsupported and as little possible cushion and space between you and the ground as possible.
Bad foot loads are when your move with your toes pinched to a point, standing on a ramp with your heel higher than the forefoot, toes curved up, a rigid sole that doesn’t let your foot flex and bend, high stack height that makes you unstable and lots of soft cushion that lets your feet feel nothing.
Your foot will get stronger with every step of good stress.
Your foot will get more deformed and injured with every step of bad stress.
Toe separators are a temporary orthotic.
Eventually we want the muscles of the foot to take over and be the driving force behind correctly aligned toes.
Wear the separators.
Move your toes more.
This makes total sense to me. Just like every other area of health, the opposite of what mainstream is pushing, is actually wellness care vs. Keeping us sick care.
The human foot is a perfectly designed spring.
You can obviously see the people who still have a spring in their step. They bounce around with energy and speed. Their feet are springy.
The foot can stay springy for 110 years if you use it.
But just like any other body part, if you don’t use it you loose it.
Arch support in shoes prevents your arch from being a spring. Natural controlled pronation is the spring. Propping it up and never letting the spring work results in a loss of that spring.
If you are dependent on arch support now, gradually wean yourself off the support.
Your springiness will come back as you adapt to your new foot movement.
Your joints will loosen up and your foot will get stronger.
