Cardiogenic shock Here's the skinny: the heart is not able to pump sufficient blood out to the tissues...which means that not enough oxygen gets to the tissues and into the cells. And that's SHOCK 🚨 - a lack of oxygen at the cellular level! Hi all,

Thanks to God I passed the NCLEX-RN!!! Thank you Apple Nclex review as well , they were a major help.

My advice:

-Do plenty of Apple Nclex readiness assessments. Try to get 4 or more consecutive high/very high. Read the rationales. Something I also found helpful was to create exams with only questions you previously got wrong. If the rationale wasn’t enough for me to understand, I would look in my ATI book or watch YouTube/tiktok videos.

-Although UWorld has similar if not the same font and color as the NCLEX, their exams were very hard and although I only paid for one, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I got a low chance of passing, and the practice exam cost $20 and took me hours to complete 100 questions. Apple Nclex questions are more similar to the NCLEX.

-Pray to God you are ready. If it’s your time, you will pass. Take deep breaths. Bring snacks and water to the testing site. Don’t bring a jacket (not allowed) or wear clothes with a lot of pockets bc they will check you everytime you take a break.

Let's talk about the symptoms of Hypoglycemia! Use this NCLEX memory trick to help you remember the signs and symptoms. When your client has hypoglycemia, they are TIRED! Tachycardia...their heart is beating fast! Hypoglycemia leads to the activation of the sympathetic nervous system to mobilize glucose from internal body stores, causing an increase in HR! 📍 Irritability...that activation of the sympathetic nervous system we just talked about? Yeah, it mobilized glucose, but it also causes the release of adrenaline. That will likely make your client cranky, anxious, and irritable! 😢 Restlessness...you guessed it, they are restless due to that adrenaline release! 😬 Excessive hunger...this is also known as polyphagia, and can be a sign of either hyper- or hypoglycemia! (There are several symptoms that can indicate either!) In hypoglycemia, the client has an intense craving for sugary food, because their blood sugar is too low! Essentially, the brain is trying to signal the body that it needs sugar.

Chronic management of type diabetes will include insulin administration since these clients are not producing their own insulin. A basal bolus system combines both short and long-acting insulin to make sure their blood glucose levels remain stable for meals and overnight when they're fasting.

Long-term management of type diabetes may include insulin as well - but these clients have some additional treatment options such as diet and exercise modifications and oral antihyperglycemic medications (like metformin)!
