Coltyn Carr crushed it today. New PRs of 84mph EV and 293ft including his first HitTrax homer on a 13u field. And yes that it CC pretending to stare at the ball in flight in the top right as I take the picture.

Pitching is so important but I remember when it was literally everything. Hitting has advanced sooooo much in softball because coaches at high levels realized the “old school” stuff and the “softball swing is different than the baseball swing” stuff is bologna. If someone tells you stuff like that then run!! Learn to swing, learn to hit and learn to mash!!! Oh yeah, and hit the weightroom hard!!

Brooke Jones & Alex Smalls Added To Instructor Staff

We are thrilled to add to new youth instructors to our ECBA staff.

Brooke Jones is a former All-State shortstop at Hanahan HS who now plays collegiately at Texas A&M CC where she just completed a solid freshman campaign. Brooke will be giving youth hitting and infield instruction to the next generation of area softball stars at ECBA over the summer months. Brooke is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and every other Saturday.

Alex Smalls is a former All-State pitcher at West Ashley HS who went on to pitch at USC Lancaster. Alex has worked alongside the ECBA staff the last few years and will be available for youth baseball pitching lessons at ECBA this summer. Alex is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

You gotta spend hours upon hours upon hours in the cage or in the bullpen refining those and focused on them to the point where you don’t think about it in the game. On gameday you rely on your preparation and your fighting heart!!

ECBA MEMBERSHIP UPDATES:
New updates that have gone into effect with many player-development tech companies such as HitTrax and Rapsodo have provided us the opportunity to offer some fantastic new tools to our players but have also created the need for us to update our ECBA Membership options. On top of some other great new options, our HitTrax units now come equipped with slow-motion cameras that have the ability to provide instant replays of each swing. Those videos are saved within the player profile so players have a better ability to track progress over time. Players can also have the ability to access our pitching Rapsodo unit where they can obtain advanced pitching metrics where they will also have a profile to track progess over time.
