Yarn Euphoria
Extreme happiness - if you feel this way about yarn, welcome! "Euphoria" from "euphoros" means to bear well. Yarn & nature celebrate.
"Bring forth plentifully" is the motto in honor of the pokeberry plant that gave me a harvest that started it all.
Progress update: First spin (left), second spin (right).
My day off was supposed to be for taxes. But "a little bit" of spinning turned into an entire day.
After suffering a stroke at 53 years old, Eugene Bartlett wrote the song, "Victory in Jesus". The song makes me reflect of how we were born in sin because of the shattered state of the world and the severed holy-spirit tie to God that happened when Adam and Eve gave up their God-given authority upon sinning. The good news is that God made a way out of this mess for those who have faith in His son! I think this famous hymn is fitting for Resurrection Sunday!
I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory.
Chorus
O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't
To me the victory.
I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory.
Romans 5:1, 5 -6, 8-9, 12, 18 (Passion Bible)
"Our faith in Jesus transfers God's righteousness to us and he declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.
"...we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves.
"But Christ proved God's passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!... For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, 'You are now righteous in my sight'.
"When Adam sinned, the entire world was affected. Sin entered human experience, and death was the result.
"In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus' sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all."
It's a great day to honor the precious gift you and I have because of God's love for us to mend what's broken and to give us His best. This is a day we can be grateful for Jesus's dedication to improve our livelihood. Talk about victory in Jesus!

Still new to spinning but I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. And I couldn't resist not posting the purple sweater that's in progress... the color of Ube!
Today was Jacob fleece rolag day!
Jacob sheep are on the conservation list because it is estimated that there are less than 5,000 of them throughout the world. I had the privilege of processing the wool of a certified Jacob sheep this weekend! The rolags are ready, spinners!
Jacob sheep are multicolored. Genesis 30:32 mentioned that Jacob asked Laban for his speckled sheep, in exchange for watching Laban's flock. They bred and the end result was that Jacob had a large flock and became prosperous without Laban (Gen. 30:40).
Cheers to all you Jacob sheep conservationists. I appreciate you keeping them alive. May you continue to prosper and bring forth abundantly. Thank you, Jessica, for the wool!
I'm making men's beanies for sale next winter. If you need one now, let me know!
Onion skin dye with different mordants.
I texted my roommate that I was dyeing in her room but the phone auto-corrected to dying β οΈ. So glad she figured out what I meant. Shout-out to my roommates for saving all their onion skins for my experiment!
Onion skin π§ dye time! I'm hoping to achieve sage green and yellow dyes with different mordants.
After months of my roommates and I saving onion skins, I get to dye with them today! Thanks, roomies, for your help.
I finished another knitted beanie and got a manikin head to put it on so you don't have to see my arms and hands anymore!
This is a size large, good for someone with a 23"+ head circumference.

The cold-front has caught me off-guard this season. To counter it, I knitted my first beanie of the season (more to come for sales)! It's made of an 80/20 merino/nylon blend.
I need to get a manikin head for presentation purposes but bear with me!
My service dog and I had the chance to attend the Anson County Fiber Arts Festival in Wadesboro, NC, and absolutely had a blast. I spent so much time earlier in the morning brushing my dog's hair (to be mindful of minimizing shedding since we would be around lots of yarn, fiber, and people's handcrafted art) so I was a bit nervous about how we would be greeted when we got to the festival.
As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Sara at Galaxy Fibers. (Thanks, Sara, for your reassuring kindness.) Sara made me feel super comfortable and shared her passion and tips about drop spindling with me. Check out her fiber and upcoming carding board... it's magnificent and customizable. She's taking pre-orders on the boards.
The vendors had such great yarns so if you didn't make it this time, I recommend making it out next time. Check out some of the pictures to get an idea of the art and town a little more. Here is a summary:
The amazing vendors I had the pleasure of buying from were: a gorgeous yarn duo, Manos del Uruguay's 70% merino/30% modal) from the store, Studio 256. At the venue itself, I bought some fiber, as mentioned above, at Galaxy Fibers. I couldn't pass up a chicken coaster for my chicken-loving roommate from Bird's Nest Stitchery. Lastly, I found the cutest-ever Christmas ornaments from OβSheaβs Craic N Crafts... and I took the shop-keeper's recommendation to try out the best local ice cream shop, Peaches n' Cream. I got to try blackberry cobbler/peach ice-cream and Mattis got the pup-cup.
I can't wait to go back next year!
Picking pokeberries for a natural dye batch.
I got caught harvesting pokeberries for a natural dye. I can't wait to show you the finished product.
Hi fiber friends. I'm in the process of building Yarn Euphoria social media pages from the ground up. Please be patient... good yarns are coming soon.
