J. A. Geiger Studio
Fine Art Stained Glass
Born and mostly raised in Menomonie, WI, I now live in a small house with a big yard in Saint Paul, MN with my studio above my garage, a pond full of (sometimes frozen) goldfish in the back yard, and the dog watching out the window.
Cutting glass for some State Icon frames for my friend CJ and . Something I do on occasion.

Finally back creating in the studio. It's been a while...
Star Waves is a sweet present (don't worry, it has already been gifted) commissioned by a lovely couple.
Vintage Spectrum artique and wispy blues, Uroboros uncat FS, with a smidgen of lacey white Bullseye.
Then and NOW! - https://mailchi.mp/20ef5428eddc/2023-then-and-now
It has been a while, and a lot has happened to the studio, physically anyway.
One Tree, Two Tree, Tall Tree, BLUE Tree!
These 5 panels were created in 2013 (ten years ago!) for a law office in Hudson, WI. They recently moved and needed a new way to have their art glass displayed.
Metal artist Sharon Miller-Thompson of saved the day, and created a 7' frame with steel and ash wood, and incorporated LED lights to hang on their new conference room wall.
Perfect frame for the Blue Trees!
Thanks Sharon!!..
You ever feel like a cartoon character?
Yup. 🤷♀️..

Love how the sunlight hits the stars on the kiln shelf.
This has been the big late summer/fall/until it snows project - finally replacing, repairing, fixing, correcting, and generally improving the deck access to the studio.
Finished (enough) the night before it started SNOWING.
Huge, huge shout-out to Chevonne and the Cracked Podcast!!!
And a second and third shout-out to Megan and Emily - you all ROCK.
And truly, thank you Chevonne for being so generous, professional, and patient with my tangents. ❤️

Best drinking fountain EVER!
First class in while, and first private class since 2019 - had to unclog the glue bottles, LOL! 🤣
Had a blast with this group of Rochester ladies, with a perfect fall day! ❤️
Now to get these projects fired.
Retaining wall is DONE.
Not exactly the studio, but definitely needed to be addressed as the hill was sliding onto the sidewalk.
This took way longer to finish than I wanted since I sprained my ankle a week after starting the project. 😫
Not 100% back yet, but close enough to work.
Next up is a VERY BIG PROJECT.
Just hung a new artwork "Southern Pines" from !!
So happy to hang it where I can see it from my desk. Look closely for the gold sparkling in the waves of clouds and on the tips of the pine boughs. Love this painting!
Norway Pines.
40x22" almost finished, and will soon be installed by the homeowners.
Installed Alpine Lake recently, with huge thanks Sharon Miller-Thompson creating the amazing ash wood and steel frame and helping install.
LEDs around the perimeter even have a remote control for dimming...
2023 Calendars are here already!
and #2023 will be here before we know it.
will be available in my store soon, getting the shipment ready to go.
I do not normally do but this little panel I made a few years ago had a bit of a mishap. This one will be tricky though as the pale blue swirling glass ( ) is what broke, and we want to try and save as much of it as possible since it is no longer available.
"Season's Transformation"
Transom panel (13×66") ready for installation!..
'Dug out' some of my DIY skills for the weekend... with a little help from , the son-in-law and a friend, we dug out some of the jungle masquerading as my front yard, and built a retaining wall.
It still needs some weeding and a cap stone set, but I'll save that for another weekend!
Splitrock Birch, headed off to the north, north shore last weekend...
Congrats on the press Chad & Angela! @ Plum Bottom Gallery
Door County art gallery Plum Bottom holds grand opening for third gallery in Fish Creek Now representing over 150 artists, Plum Bottom opened its first gallery in rural Egg Harbor in 2007, then a second site in downtown Egg Harbor in 2019
Testing out the frame fit for these panels and discovered the LEDs had a remote with a "FADE" feature! Downside it cycles through the fade pretty fast, but it is still 😎.
for the frame in progress.
Sunrise River. Approximately 26"×22.5"
The snow blankets the banks of the river, with deep shadows turning the snow blue under the pines.
The Alpine Lake pair are resting on the table while waiting for some lights and a frame. This is photo is on the cementing table, with the pungent aroma of linseed oil in the studio.
Sometimes you just have to eat all the fortune cookies.
Sadly was not helping me this time.
Alpine Lake in progress.
Winter dogwoods.
What a switch in 24 hours.
Dogwood ice.
Been working on a new commission of a pair of offset panels.
Starry Night is home. So happy with how this pair turned out, and I'm loving the red jewel.
