***Nashville Fam!!! Must Read*** Metro Nashville City Council passed a budget early Wednesday morning that includes a 34-percent property tax hike. It's the largest property tax increase in Metro Nashville history, and the first hike since 2012.
With more than 80-percent of council members' approval, a substitute budget offered by Councilmember Bob Mendes passed in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The budget includes a plan to increase funding to Metro Nashville Public Schools and the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Currently, TN is ranked # 15 in taxes in the US, which means there are 36 states in our country with HIGHER taxes than TN!

These are strange and challenging times we find ourselves in and weβre all experiencing some level of fear and uncertainty. Based on what you see in the media, you may believe Realtors are concerned because they canβt sell homes or hold open house.
The Federal government labeled residential real estate βessentialβ last week, and let me explain why....itβs not about βsalesβ. In reality, our government and the real estate industry are much more concerned about people with these sorts of challenges:
π΅ A mother of two boys who just lost her husband in a horrible car accident last night. They didnβt have life insurance. She realizes she can no longer afford the home her and her children live in. That mom desperately needs to sell the house and get a smaller one in the same school district because she doesnβt want the kids to be further dramatized by losing their friends right after just losing their dad.
π΅ The 80-year-old couple who just moved into a small condo to cut expenses and put their 4-bedroom colonial up for sale. They lost most of their life savings this month in the stock market crash. They must now sell their previous house immediately because they need the proceeds of that sale to sustain them financially.
π΅ A couple with an infant daughter who has special long-term medical needs. They must move closer to the hospital that specializes in the type of procedure required to heal their little one. They need to move now.
π΅ A woman and her two small kids who has been in an abusive relationship and finally had the courage to say enough is enough! Her priority is to get her kids to a safe home, she needs to move now.
TV concentrates on the glitz and glamour of the profession. In reality, Realtors serve many people through some extraordinarily difficult times. Death, divorce, sickness, job loss. The list goes on.
We donβt talk much about these people and their situations as we simply aren't able to for privacy purposes.
Situations like those mentioned above and many others are taking place right now all over the country. We promise you its not to be selfish, but people do still need to buy, sell or rent a home as a basic need. Itβs not about βsalesβ right now, itβs about serving those that need to move most!
