I’m afraid so. We held out longer than we probably should but now it’s time to move on to other endeavors. We will officially shut down 12/22/24.

But our loss is your gain! Everything* is 70% off because we are clearing everything out.

Another thing, we’re going to have to increase prices a bit because we’ve absorbed our cost increases for the last few years. The good news is that I haven’t figured out when and I’m very good at procrastinating. Just FYI, it’s coming.

One last thing: you want cheap tea accessories? I found some in our storage unit and, since they’re literally costing me money, I’m trying to be rid of them. There’s only a few (1-3 of each) so I’ll set them live when we start the new shipping policy. We’ll be taking a Christmas vacation so no deliveries or shipments Saturday 12/23/23 through Saturday 12/30/23. We’ll fulfill any orders when we return.

Important announcement:

We will not be delivering Thursday, 11/11/21. Also, no shipping during that week (11/08/21 - 11/13/21).
We're going to be out of town so it will be exceptionally hard to fulfill those orders.
You might want to get those orders in now. Or wait for the next delivery on 11/18/21.

Potter's Tea House updated their business hours.

Our espresso machine just went Fssssshhhh-poompf-ssssssssss.

As you've correctly surmised, that is not proper behavior for an espresso machine, especially when wholly unprovoked.

As such, we will not be making coffee drinks for the remaining few days we're open.

Only pickup is available for now and it's pretty barebones but it's a start!

Just a little over 3 weeks to go until we close the storefront and wait in the dark corners of the internet until we can rise from the ashes of post-pandemic Meridian. Since we don't have any storage space, we're going to unload a lot of our furniture and decor. But also, our kitchenware like tea pots and plates and stuff. Keep an eye on our story cause we'll probably post some stuff there for your visual reference. 🙂

And then we'll be back for small business Saturday.

We type these words with a heavy heart as we have come to the difficult decision to close our storefront.

We were already stretched thin and; unfortunately, we slipped through the cracks of the relief programs, leaving us having to figure out how to proceed.

As fellow tea people, we refuse to leave the Treasure Valley without a proper tea place. If we did we'd just have to call it The Valley because it will have lost its treasure. ;) But we will remain open until 12/23/20 to make the transition as smooth as possible. Please note, we have stopped making our salads and sandwiches (but will still have our pastries) and you'll want to use any gift certificates before then.

The good news is we will do everything we can to continue providing tea to our community. The current plan is to go online (with a local focus) while setting up at the markets. Then, once we build up funds again, build a tea cart to take around the valley. Become more like Potter's Tea Nomads than Potter's Tea House. Eventually, we hope to open a storefront again as we know you all enjoyed coming in, having a peaceful sit while sipping on some tea.

Our online store will be launching soon (we've been working on it almost exclusively all week) so you'll still be able to order our teas and we'll have local delivery beginning next year.
