About Principal and Founder Cynthia Walden:
Cynthia is an award-winning interior design professional and Principal/Founder of the San Francisco Bay Area design firm Walden Design Group. As a design student, Cynthia was recognized with departmental awards in Color for Interiors, Materials & Finishes, and Space Planning. She won the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) Residential Lighting Competition and earned two Gold Awards from the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for her kitchen and bath designs. While earning her Kitchen and Bath, Residential and Commercial, and Green/Sustainable Design Certificates, Cynthia held internships with a large kitchen and bath design firm and with a commercial architecture firm committed to LEED caliber sustainable design and construction. Before founding Walden Design Group, Cynthia served as a Senior Designer at a prominent bay area Design-Build firm. Prior to embarking on her formal design education, Cynthia enjoyed a career in high tech marketing and executive management. from Duke University's School of Engineering and an M.B.A from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Cynthia currently serves on Duke University's School of Engineering Board of Visitors and the Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation Board of Directors. She is an Annual Fund Co-Chair at the Woodside Priory School, an Allied Member of ASID, and a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association, U.S. Green Building Council, and the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.
