This story is all too familiar, and too many communities are living in fear. The wasted billions of dollars squandered by corruption under the Andrew Holness-led administration could have provided our police officers with badly needed resources to help secure our communities.

Lisa Hannah fell short with her problem solving skills, subsequently she was unable to turn a internal contest into a win, as a result the man Mark Golding who have made a living by applying good old fashion know how to problem solving, triumph in the contest for party leadership.

We must now make peace with the results and allow for progress.

*My little two cents from Comrade Edwards*

I barely slept last night as I wrestled with the unthinkable defeat that we suffered at the September 3 polls. Clearly there were factors at play, some clearer than others but he who sharpeneth his sword on both sides will eventually fall on it.

That out of the way, I have pondered on what this 'landslide victory' for the JLP means. *Is it that Jamaicans want nothing more to do with the PNP? Has the country gone green as they claim?*

My dear comrades, *nothing is farther from the truth and I want you to take solace* in the brief analysis that I have done below:

In 2016 the JLP won 32 seats to the PNP's 31. There was a 48% voter turnout (870807)that saw 437178 (50.3%) persons voting for JLP compared to 433629 (49.7%)that voted for the PNP.

Fast forward to 2020 and the preliminary figures from the EOJ reveal that a total of 711921 persons voted. Of this amount, 406764 persons voted for the JLP while 305157 chose the PNP.

Let's put these figures into context. *It is clear that the JLP did not win as a result of gaining PNP supporters because the JLPs numbers decreased by 7%, even with the luminance of the 'Andrew' factor.*

*PNPs numbers went down by 33% which is a clear indication that PNP supporters did not swing to the JLP but stayed home for one reason or another. Had they swung then the JLP's numbers would have increased even with the low voter turn out.*

I must therefore repeat the unquestionable truth that PNP supporters stayed home on September 3 and that contributed to the party's loss.

Now there may be a plethora of reasons for the aforesaid but once the PNP connects with its people and treats with the issues at the centre of this low PNP turnout it is only a matter of time before the wheels turn.

When I say we will rise again therefore, it is not without context. The ideologies of the PNP are people centred. They run deep and though the tides get rough, the ship will never sink.

Comrades I say to you therefore,

Be not dismayed whate'er betide

I thank you all for you physical,spiritual, emotional and your Financial support. To my social media team, you guys have done a tremendous job in setting up our platform. The admin team, you guys soared above the best. And the ground troops, you have touched many hearts by shaking hands.

Now Comrades, the real work begins! Welcome to ground zero, we have been hit by a different type of adversary. This is an attack on our democracy. We the legitimate citizens of Jamaica and members of the People's National Party did not lose this election, the Jamaican people have lost out on an opportunity to stop a corrupt administration, and stem the degradation in our culture.

There is very little credibility to these results, thus we will rise to ensure this never happens again. This four or five years going forward will be a true test of the will of the jamaican people.

However we have a responsibility towards each other as comrades, and more so as fellow citizens.

Therefore we will not get too worried about the one meal that those self concerned individuals sold our democracy for on September 3rd 2020. Because it was prophesied by Marcus Garvey and a song about my “tiger” “ Them sell Marcus Garvey for rice and peas. Bob Marley called it Ambush in the Night.

“When its time to get some food; your brother got to be your Enemy”

Take a flag and hold it near to your heart and pledge today that democracy is not dead. We will build from Ground Zero.
