Our hearts are broken. We had to say goodbye to Honey this morning. Owner gave her away after having her for 11 years we took her hoping to find the perfect spot for her to finish out her life. Well she starting coughing and not eating . Took her to the vet today and she was in congested heart failure. We had her for about a month. We decided it was best to let her go. Thanks Peggy Albritton for staying with her and for fostering her.Honey enjoy that Rainbow bridge sorry we couldn’t do more.

Hey guys if you are out and about I got my volunteers hooked on Gatorade fruit punch flavored drink. Also we would love some of those cheap freeze pops. It getting so hot. Anything you can do to help we appreciate it.

NO HELP AT THE KENNEL THIS AFTERNOON. NO HELP IN THE MORNING. I AM JUST NOT SURE AT 70 YEARS OLD I CAN KEEP THIS UP. EMAR HAS BEEN AROUND FOR OVER 23 YEARS. I AM JUST SO UPSET NO ONE WANTS TO STEP UP. I AM SURE KAHUNA MATATA WILL BE THRILLED I AM HAVING ISSUES.I DO NOT WANT TO QUIT BUT IF THINGS DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.VOLUNTEER- FOSTER SHOW YOU CARE .GET OFF THE KEYBOARD AND ON YOUR FEET.HELP EMAR

We are needing some Retriever chicken meatballs from Tractor Supply . They are out at the store here. Also we need some pill pockets.

I know yall seen that Creatures Comfort in Clarke County will be shutting down. If things don't start looking up for Emar we will be next. I need volunteers for kennel help morning and afternoon. Please come help . If you are local you can help . don't expect someone to do what you can't or won.t. I am sorry this is getting serious. Only a few volunteers and they can't do it all the time.I have no help Tuesday Morning and Friday morning and no afternoon help.

This is the most heartbreaking post for me in rescue.Bailey was pulled from the animal control downtown Meridian Ms 2-2-2016. She has been at Emar for eight and half years. She was posted lots and lots of times. No adopters. She did not like other dogs moody iffy around kids so she lived her life at the Emar kennel. We all loved her and gave her what we could. In 2022 she had a growth removed that was soft tissue sarcoma. It came back in 2024 we decided to remove her front leg. It brought her about 6 months. Bailey did pretty good and was always her usually bitchy self. She was tough . She was the matriarch of Emar and a board member for life. Well August the 9th Bailey was ready to pack it in she just didn’t have the energy to go on. We took her to Till -Newell because they knew how to handle her mood swings. Thanks to Dr Donaldson for getting it set up to get her ticket to Rainbow Bridge or Heaven.Thanks to Dr Anna for for helping her ease out. She was great with her. We are gonna miss her and I am the type person when I commit to a dog I am gonna do best to make miracles happen .In Bailey place and the rescue world sometimes it not possible. In the rescue world you always end up with dogs not going anywhere and they become part of the rescue family.I feel like I failed her but no happy ever after came forward so Emar was home to her like several others we have. Thanks to Peggy for taking that trip to me to the vet Bailey was on point that day. We are gonna miss her at Emar. The last few pics of her the morning we took her. Her running out to the yard. Taking a potty and I would like to think she was saying p**s on this old world I am outta here and going to a place where I can run forever and rule that world. Love the one of her looking back maybe saying thanks it been real will catch you later. Gonna miss you Bailey Bailey. Love you

Shout out to Claire Hennington. She came and volunteer for several weeks at Emar. She is off to Mississippi State in Starksville I am sad I really loved this young lady and gonna miss her at Emar. That boyfriend Cross was a good helper to. Good luck on your new adventure don’t forget my address you and Cross are always welcome. Tell Cross Sienna will be waiting.

Hey Paula! Wanted to send you some updated pics of CeCe (Camilla) & her sister Daisy….🌼 CeCe is a little mother hen and nosy as hell! Lmao she is the BEST baby I could have asked for! She has more personality than most people I know….she loves carrying her purses, toys & bones….thank you again for all that you do!

Emar needing a foster home for a male 14 pound dog that just went thru heartworm treatment. He needs time to chill and take it easy for a few weeks. He seems to be crate trained and leashed trained.He a good little dog. Serious inquiries please someone foster . Text me at 601-527-5199

Owner surrender to Emar .So glad Mattie wasn’t at kennel less than a week. She got her forever home this weekend with her own personal groomer. Happy life sweet girl. This is her new family.

Hello it is Monday August the 5th. I have no help in the afternoons all this week at 4 pm. I am sure someone could spare 2 hours in the afternoon to help take care of the Emar dogs. Charlie adopted by Carrie Bates. She adopted Lainey now Mollie a 2nd pup from Emar both living the good life.

From our 1st Hello (8/20/10) to our Last Good bye (8/2/24) it's been the most amazing 14yrs of having you by my side ❤️ Until we meet again my Win Win 😇 🌈 Peter Richardson. Our hearts hugs and prayers go out to the Richardson.Winnie came to Emar from Alabama from Mike Williams if anyone knows Mike let him know. Just copied from the Richardson post. What a journey Winnie had. Wish I could remember how many siblings they were.
