KMG Play Therapy
I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) specializing in toddlers through preteens and their families.
As a LSCSW and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) I work with children and their families.
✨Inner Self✨
Talk about a punch in the gut 😥
The way kids feel about themselves on the inside can be related to the behaviors they display on the outside.
If we want behaviors to improve we have to make sure kids experience the 5 Be With Attitudes:
- I am here
- I hear you
- I understand
- I care
- I delight in you
The power of truly being with, genuinely caring for and showing up for our kids can make a huge difference in their own inner thoughts.
✨Parent - Child Connection✨
Kids spend most of their time with their caregivers, so it makes sense that this connection and relationship is the most important.
If you want your kids to thrive and become the best version of themselves ➡ work to create a healthy, strong, fun and supportive relationship!
✨Play is Powerful✨
says something along the lines of this quote every single podcast episode. And I love it! It is the basis for what I do- providing kids with the time, tools and opportunity to become capable and trust in themselves that they can do the hard things.
As a child centered play therapist, we come from a person first lens where we believe that all people (including children) have the ability to work through their circumstances. They just need the time, tools and opportunity to learn, practice, experiment and practice some more to figure it out!
✨You are the most important thing in your classroom✨
Had the absolute pleasure to meet and train some of the wonderful staff at I’m not sure I’ve laughed that hard at a training before. Such a fun team!
This group of ladies have a wonderful team that all work so well together. They have created a community and family feel at their center and each of their classrooms.
Yesterday they learned about building a classroom community and how they, as the teacher, are the most important thing in their classroom. They set the tone, they create the relationship, they bring the joy and fun!
They learned a little more about themselves and what motivates and stresses them out, so they can be more present in their classrooms. They focused on attunement and validation of feelings for their students to continue to foster and strengthen the relationships with those in their classroom. They have great routines and traditions to create a ‘family classroom’ feeling.
It was a pleasure to meet this group and teach them a little bit about how relationships matters in the classroom. I’m excited to bring more content to this team in the fall!
Proud to be a sponsor for my kids school PTO fundraiser.
Such hard work by the committee to pull off such a fun evening for the parents!

Often parents ask ‘what is play therapy?’ Or ‘how will this help?’ Kids do not process or experience emotions as we adults do, so they need a different way to work through those experiences. Play is the language of children! Children express themselves through physical behavior and the play therapist verbally reflects back this behavior, acting as a color commentator to the child. This reflection allows children to apply verbal language and understanding to their experiences which helps them fully understand their story. Play therapy meets the child where they are developmentally and allows them full freedom to express themselves how they do best- through play!
