We've got an idea: How about we just hold a FREE wine tasting *every* Thursday?!?

Yesterday's Elite Worldwide Imports wine sampling was a huge hit with our guests - some of whom came specifically to taste the varietals of Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery, and some just came out to The Hub to hang and stumbled on our event! 🍀

Reps from Cache Creek joined our wine guru Melissa Mastro to sample out several reds and whites, and we immediately started getting requests to begin carrying the Cache Creek brand! So guess it's time to start looking into it!

Thanks to everyone who came out and took part, and we plan to start hosting more of these free wine samplings very soon! 🍷

Bummer to have to do this, but we are postponing our Olympic-themed Trivia tonight because our host is sick. 😔

We will reschedule this for a future date - hopefully next week!

🎶 WEEKLY LIVE MUSIC LINEUP! 🎶

Only two nights of live music this week, and it all kicks off this weekend. Our first performance will be Tillman & Taff on Saturday at 5:30 pm. This duo is part of the locally famous 911 Tallahassee Rock Band, and this will be their !

Then, on Sunday, we have the second ever performance from solo musician David Paul Zimmer. David's first performance here a couple of months ago was a mix of Indie, Folk, and Americana music. And it was very well-recieved by our crowd who immediately requested we bring him back again.

We've got MAAD GOAT here Saturday and Southern Hills Craft Barbeque on Sunday, too!

On Thursday ...
Hub beer-tender Myles has put together a great list of Olympic-related questions for the return of Hub Trivia Night! It starts at 6:30 pm, it's free to play, all ages are welcome, and there are prizes for the winning teams. MAAD Goat Pizza will be set up and slinging those (future award-winning) pies. And Elite Worldwide Imports is gonna be here giving out complimentary wine samples from their amazing vino collection! 🍷

On Friday ...
We celebrate the last Friday of July with free popsicles for all kids, plus we're doing another one-day only shirt sale with $5 off all Hub shirts. And once again, MAAD Goat is handling late lunch and dinner for us with pizzas from 3 pm until 9 pm Friday night.

On Saturday ...
The duo of Tillman and Taff will be making their first appearance here at The Hub. And for the third day in a row, MAAD Goat will be serving up those gourmet pies!

Then on Sunday ...
We close out the week with what we're sure will be another amazing BBQ lunch and dinner from Southern Hills Craft BBQ, which was here during the Jason Byrd concert last Saturday night, and was able to serve just about every single customer until we closed at 9 pm. Can't wait to have them back! And on stage that will be the very talented David Paul Zimmer - back with us for only the second time!

If you think it's too hot for you out here, think again! We've got free portable battery-powered fans to keep you cool, lots of shade, tons of air-conditioned space and even frozen lemonade and sangria!

Pictured here is the Tom Brown Park 14u All Stars, who recently went 2-0 to win the District Championship at Capital Park in Tallahassee. 🏆

But they were just getting warmed up! 🔥

From July 8-14, the Tom Brown 14u All Stars traveled to Baton Rouge, LA, where they competed in the USSSA Rec All Star World Series.

During Pool Play, Tom Brown went 3-0 to earn the #1 seed. Then in Bracket Play, Tom Brown went 2-2 finishing in 4th place - IN THE NATION - in the World Series tournament.

As a result, Tom Brown's record of 5-2 earned them a #7 national ranking for ALL 14u All Star teams around the country! 💪

Congrats, boys! We're thrilled to hear that The Hub - and all your other sponsors - played a small part in helping you guys win big! 👑 ⚾️ ❤️ 👊

One night after some epic live music on The Hub's new stage - courtesy of our friends at Josh Brown Construction & Renovation - we are back at it today with some afternoon tunes from the husband and wife duo, Allie & Salty!

This duet is a spinoff from the popular local band, The Allie Cats, and Mike & Allie McKay are both talented and entertaining! They perform American rock, classic rock and folk music.

And here's a fun fact as it relates to last night's performance from Jason Byrd and today's show by Allie & Salty: Mike was a member of Jason Byrd's VERY FIRST BAND!

How full circle and cool is that?

🎶 JASON BYRD *LIVE* AT THE HUB TONIGHT! 🎶

You know we love - and do we have a whopper of one tonight!

Jason Byrd, one of area's most accomplished musicians, is taking The Hub's brand new beautiful stage at 6 pm - and he's gonna put on a FREE, all-ages show to remember. 😎

But to appreciate Jason Byrd, you must first know his history in country music - and it's a good one!

At 19 years old, Jason fulfilled a lifelong dream when he became the third generation to serve as a firefighter at the Tallahassee Fire Department. But at this same time, a new and unexpected dream began to consume him. It was to write and perform Country music. Raised in Tallahassee, Jason grew up on hymns and Country music. Deep appreciation for the music genre turned to profound ambition as his undeniable talent for singing and songwriting became clear.

It was in the 1990s that Jason found himself balancing his career in the fire service with a career in Nashville, AKA "Music City." Traveling 490 miles each way, almost weekly, he was determined once again to turn a dream into a reality.

They say Nashville is full of musicians who have spent years hoping to get in front of the right person. Someone who can change the trajectory of their whole career. For Jason, it was no different. But for him, that person was none other than legendary Country music artist George Jones. Unexplainable fate found Jason sitting in the living room of George and Nancy Jones, and his life and career changed forever.

The two began managing Jason’s music career and providing him with the mentorship that he needed to be successful in this ever-changing business. Small gigs at local bars and honkytonks turned into a long run of playing on stages across the United States and Canada opening for powerhouse artists including, but not limited to, Billy Dean, Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, Confederate Railroad, Mark Chesnutt, Loretta Lynn, Dierks Bentley, and, of course, George Jones. Additionally, Jason has had several appearances on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry and The Nashville Network.

Jones passing in 2013 brought a time of deep reflection for Jason, and he returned home to focus on family and his career at the fire department. But music was in his blood. In 2019, Jason left his position in the fire department after a distinguished 28 years of service. Eager to focus solely on music, Jason knew he wanted to re-introduce himself to the world by paying tribute to the man who defined country music for legions of fans.

In 2021, Jason released his first single to country radio. A self-pinned duet with George Jones called, “Better Life." Which was nominated for the 2022 “Single of the Year” by the Josie Music Awards. Jason said of the honor: "I am humbled and honored to give George Jones fans the chance to hear him again on the radio and hear one of the last things he recorded before he passed. “I miss my friend and hope he is proud of me for “keeping it country”! I truly believe country music fans are starving for traditional country music, and I plan on giving it to them."

Jason’s latest single, “That’s Just How She Gets” was released in October of 2023. Additionally, last November, Jason and Award-winning Singer/Songwriter Billy Dean recorded and released a special Christmas duet of “There’s a New Kid in Town” written by the late Keith Whitley. He recently had two songs nominated for the 2023 Josie Music Awards “Song of the Year”, “Honkytonk and the Altar” and “No End in Sight”. Jason's Next release, “She's Coming Back Saloon” released on 3/29/24.
