HRDC prepares to open new seasonal shelter in Bozeman The Human Resources Development Council plans to welcome the first guests to its new shelter on Wheat Drive next week after hundreds of thousands of dollars in renovations.

HRDC functions to support the community with dollars from the community. With 42 programs currently functioning, there are very few needs that HRDC doesn’t strive to address, and without government funding.

The Bozeman Public Library has a staffed kiosk set up in the front entry that is staffed to help folks fill out the census! It is open during open hours Tuesday-Saturday (10-1pm) with some additional hours Tuesday-Thursday (until 6pm). Help support your community!

As part of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, Connolly’s patient—along with many others—was temporarily moved from a congregate-style shelter to a hotel room. “When she moved into the hotel, I noticed such a dramatic improvement,” says Connolly. “She feels safe, she’s getting sleep. The ability to sleep without worrying is so essential for health. She has more mental and physical bandwidth. She can now name her trauma and can actively identify tools that will help her. The strides she’s making are remarkable.”

What Does It Take to Launch a Tiny Home Village of Permanent Supportive Housing? Five lessons from a tiny home village in Bozeman, Montana, can inform other communities seeking to end chronic homelessness.

In 2018, an HRDC customer came into our office to share with us that they were on their bicycle and passed the Wheat Drive site with a for sale sign.
