I remember back home in Ohio we used to talk about all the R&B, Soul and Funk music that came out of there. From The O’Jays to Bootsie Collins to Slave! I could go on and on!! Well, there was a Rock/Pop influence as well! specifically out of Akron, we had Devo, a techno/pop group…and then there was Hynde of the Prentenders, an American/British Rock Group! I Finally met her all the way over here in England at the BBC Radio2 Festival!! My Home Girl!! Chrissie Hynde!!

Today is International Jazz Day 2023 featuring an all-star global concert webcast worldwide on April 30 at 4pm EDT (1pm PDT / 10pm CET). Herbie Hancock is planned to host a global concert with UNESCO featuring performances in 13 global cities by Dianne Reeves, Marcus Miller, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian McBride, Somi, Melody Gardot, Sérgio Mendes, Cyrille Aimée, Antonio Sánchez, John Beasley, and many more!

"I love Wayne Shorter. He's the best saxophonist ever, in my opinion. Miles thought so too. Even over Coltrane and the people who were much more famous than Wayne, really. Everything was magical about him. I remember I was playing with Jaco Pastorius, who had just joined Weather Report. Wayne, of course, was one of the founding members of that band. Jaco was supposed to be in the studio recording with me, and he didn't show up. So I said to Henry, the engineer, 'I know where he is. Let's go get him.'"

Joie Lee is an actress, producer, writer, and Spike Lee's younger sister. She began her acting career on screen in Spike's first theatrical movie, "She's Gotta Have It," in 1986. She wrote the screenplay for "Crooklyn" (1994) and several episodes of the reprised TV series version of "She's Gotta Have It." She was also an associate producer for "Crooklyn." She has nearly 30 acting credits, with several in her brother's films. Joie was part of a growing trend in African-American women filmmakers in the 1990s, which has helped open doors for creators today.

According to reports, Sade is working on a new album for the first time in over a decade. On Monday (Oct. 10) it was announced in a Billboard cover interview with and that they will be reopening Miraval Studios for use.

Sade has already been set as a future resident of the room but Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard confirmed that after a year of renovations, recording is on the way. They also shared that the Nigerian-born British singer and her backing band are the space first unofficial guests.

According to a press release, the groups current project is a continuation of Sade’s, 63, last LP “Soldier of Love,” which was released back in 2010. Their most recent releases are singles “Flower of the Universe” and “The Big Unknown” released in 2018… Full story on .com
