SWISHERS CHUCKWAGON aka CHUCK at almost 14 months old. Now that NOLA is gone, he is getting turn out with DAKOTA (1/2 brother same sire) every other day. This was my attempt to get good quality photo's for my web site, but without help he just kept following me around making it impossible. Hopefully, tomorrow I can get help and the pics I need so I can get him marketed.
Here is PIPER being a h***y. She is tormenting TRUCK.
Here is the beautiful WYOME at 30 days old today.
TONKA at 19 days old, looking all masculine.
STYLIN ROAN TONKA R3 aka TONKA at 19 days old. He is being a pest and pulling on COWY's fly mask. Very surprised to see he is already starting to shed off his guard coat.
Trying the name CORAL out until Tennessee Rain Blue tells me otherwise. This is her 1st day out to pasture ever. CORAL is 15 days old today. I got a lot of great pics of all 3 foals, will be posting them through out the day.
NOLA is on her way to her new home in south west Texas. There is a 16yr old young lady who does not know she is getting this filly as a present yet. Tennessee Rain Blue did a wonderful job with ground working NOLA, building trust and earning her respect. It is always bitter sweet to see them leave. Now CHUCK is by himself, not thinking he will be to fond of that once he realizes his pasture mate is gone.

SWISHERS WYO BONNET aka WYOME at 17 days old. She is ready to go out to pasture with the big horses, I am just not quite ready to let her, lol. Once they start going out, there is the risk of getting hurt. Always tough on me when that time comes.
Sharing today's memory from 2023. This filly is out of last years foal crop. TIPSY's dam COWY is approaching her due date. COWY is in foal to BRUTUS, so through genetics, we know we will get a blue roan. Only question is gender.

R3 Update:
All last night, HEIDI slept. All through the day, HEIDI slept. That girl is tired from her Wednesday night ordeal. We have had storms come and go for the last 3 nights and will continue so into next week. We chose not to foal watch tonight, she is not showing any discomfort. I will go back to my foal watch test kit for next foal watch unless of course she shows any significant signs.
ðŸ’
This evening, I said to my husband lets go eat a good meal before feeding, thinking foal watch was pending. Storms were building, but it looked like we could eat and beat them. We went to Mary's in Strawn. Blue ate 1/2 order of bean and cheese nachos and I had fried shrimp with a baked potato, extra tarter sauce (yums). They were busy, so we got out late. Driving to the ranch we realized the storms skipped us at Mary's but did not miss our ranch, it was getting hammered! Driving into the property, I knew we were in big trouble, 4 of the mares were out for pasture time. Actually, each one of them could use a bath. But, they are spoiled and out in Spring showers in their world, is mistreatment. Waiting with digust on their faces at the barn, we quickly put them all in the safety and comfort of their stalls. Cleo met me at the truck door, she does not like the rain. My guess is none of them do. Even LuCee, our mare that came off the plains of S. Dakota appreciates routine and shelter.
ðŸ’
Tomorrow is a new day, new task and errands to run. I am not liking the shavings and straw I bought for foaling. All the feed stores I frequent were out, so I was adviced to go to Dillards Feed and Seed in Weatherford. I will not make that mistake again. Love their Big V chicken feed and scratch, but for the above its a no go.
ðŸ’
No trainging for TRUCK today, I imagine they were busy. No update on Junebug or Piper either, should get all that tomorrow. Piper was at a 43 I believe, so I imagine she got the happy injection of swimmers. Junebug was a day behind her.
ðŸ’
DEUCEE is having a EPM flare. I am going to have to decide what protical I want to try on him. It is not bad, he has the wobbles. I know why, we've been through this before. I've got him on immune booster, vitiman E. Trying to pick up a power pack wormer, may have to order online. Then either traditional meds or trying Silver Lining Herbs new EPM product. Anyone tried that yet, how did you like it?
R3 Update:
Well, HEIDI regressed or at least her t**s have, body still looks ready. I worried all last night and between the hours of 2am till 9am, I must have pulled 7 pics off my remote camera. Then this morning I find that she absorbed half her bag. It was hot today, in the 90's and I struggled with a headache from 2am last night till about an hour ago. I didn't want to leave ya'll hanging after last nights post. I will still check the remote camera tonight, but I feel she is not willing to give up her title of always running past her due date which is tomorrow.
R3 Update:
Well, HEIDI has all the signs of foaling real soon except the numbers I need to indicate camping out/foal watch. Last yr the test kit let me down on her, it is not 100% accurate and for that I am nervous tonight. She is due May 1st (wed). I will be triggering my remote camera for pics throughout the night. I feel we will be on foal watch for sure by tomorrow evening. I really hope she does not surprise me again like she did last year with NOLA. HEIDI has a history of going from low numbers to foaling numbers 12hrs later.
🩶
Today, was a little bit busy for R3. We picked up our SWISHER frozen swimmer collection from one clinic and transported it to the new clinic along with CLEO in tow. She will get AI'd with it soon, so we left her. Checked on TRUCK, it is his birthday today, he is officially 3yrs old.
🩶
JUNEBUG and PIPER ended up open and will be ready to breed by the end of the week or beginning of next week. When exactly ready will determine whether they get TRUCK or frozen SWISHER swimmers. I am hoping they hold out until they get him dummy trained so that we are not forced in our choices. I am ok with JUNEBUG getting the frozen, but we'd prefer PIPER to get TRUCK. I was pleasantly surprised to find out we had more straws left then I thought. But, still not sure yet exactly how many mares worth we have, 3-5 is my best guess (praying for 5)!
🩶
LUCEE and BECKY are holding strong, I see no need for immediate concerns. COWY is a month out, but due to her history, more like 2wks out.
Guess what we were doing last yr and the yr before? Foaling out babies! Last yr we foaled out 3!

WYO ENOLA GAY aka NOLA still hasn't shed out. I can see the grulla underneath the silver winter coat. Wish she come on with it!
I posted several pics of TRUCK today, this should be the last one. This boy is so balanced, nice withers, bone for days and isn't even quite 3yrs old yet. Looks like we will get a nice tail, mane and forelock too. I can't wait to share video's of him moving, when trotting his back does not move up and down, super smooth gate. He has shown huge power with speed too. He seems to be the total package. Keep an eye peeled to R3, we have exciting updates coming. The next 2 months will be filled with decisions and announcements.
And this is how we know all will be good. If DAKOTA is sharing his alfalfa with TRUCK, all is well in the world. This is also how I know TRUCK is 15.3hh. DAKOTA is 15.3hh with front shoes which he is currently wearing. Check out the height of both their whithers.
DAKOTA saying hi to his half brother out of another mother, CHUCK. Both SWISHER HANCOCK sons. KOKO keeps a short tail, not a dang thing we can do about it.
I was having a hard time trying to decide who to give TRUCK pasture time with. Turning him out by himself just sounded lonely. Tennessee Rain Blue suggested DAKOTA (prior pasture mate), which did make sense once I thought about it. KOKO doesn't take crap off of the young ones and is a good roll model. Here you see them making sure they did actually know each other and after a good sniff, no bad squeals, just an instant buddy hook up took place. Both boys are excited to be turned out together.
SWISHERS HEAVY HAUL aka TRUCK will turn 3yrs old April 29th. TRUCK is by SWISHER HANCOCK and out of W "BECKY" SUE HANCOCK. He is our JR stallion propsect. TRUCK is RnRn EE and carries 1 seal brown gene. He currently stands 15.3hh.
Yesterday, Tennessee Rain Blue, Brooke Willis and I put up this entrance way divider in front of SWISHERS stall/run. As you can see here, it keeps TRUCK a good distance away from SWISHER and will allow TRUCK some well needed pasture time. It is hard maintaining 2 happy stallions, everything has to be thought out very well.
