Today is opening day for the South Lansing Farmers Market! So many great vendors.

Check it out, market fans. Here's the preliminary lineup of vendors accepted to the 2024 South Lansing Farmers Market. We'll add more later in June when folks have more produce.

We're excited to add seven of our winter market vendors and five 1st time vendors.

Winter vendors joining us this summer include Alison Stirling (Honey Badger Farm), Rich Steffens (Charred Sauces and Seasonings), Khaleea Washington (Sweet Lee’s Teas ), Deardra Westfall (Nature's 92), Aurora Alldaffer (Aurora's Plants), Robert Liichow (Art for Africa), and Fannie Barnes (Fannie's Fancy Bags).

Our newest additions include two hot food vendors - Nour Chammat (Aladdin's Restaurant) and Lorinda Torrez (G3food4All - Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan entrees and desserts), and three vendors selling sweets - Shima Johnson (Chy'Land Goodies), Catlin Goodwin (Just One More - Home Bakery), and Alysha Cowles (Mitten Mallows - Gourmet Marshmallows ).

The South Lansing Business Association is very excited to be collecting items for Movers for Moms at our membership meeting on April 24.

💜 Movers for Moms 2024 has officially arrived! Movers for Moms is an annual campaign that all TMT locations participate in as a way to give back to mothers in need who are currently in a domestic violence or homelessness situation. It is our special way of celebrating Mother's Day for the women who need it most. Throughout the month of April, we will be collecting donations that will be delivered to local shelters on or around Mother's Day. We are wrapping up box drops for this year's collection sites. If your business is interested in being a collection partner, there is still time! Send us a message, and we will reach out to you.

Here's your vendor lineup for Thursday October 5. Come hungry for dinner... the food is slappin'!!

The early registration deadline is 9/1/23 at 11:59 p.m. Register now!

The annual 9/11 Hero 5K Run/Walk is coming up. The event is set to start at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11.

The event memorializes the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by helping raise money for first responders and military veterans. It’s organized by the Delhi Township Fire Department, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, and The American Legion Post 238. The event is supported by local businesses.

The beneficiaries of this year’s event are the 100 Club of Lansing, which helps families of fallen police and fire heroes killed in the line of duty; Great Lakes Burn Camp, which provides compassionate healing and fun activities for children who have suffered burns; and Wilwin Lodge at Cygnet Cove, a retreat and recuperation for disabled combat veterans and their families.

The 9/11 5K course starts at Veterans Memorial Gardens, 2074 N. Aurelius Road, runs through the bays of Delhi Fire Department, and continues south on Aurelius Road, winding through subdivisions and finishing at the 9/11 Memorial located at the corner of Holt and Aurelius Roads.

The race registration costs $25 until Friday, Sept. 1, and the fee includes a T-shirt. After that date, registration increases to $30, and T-shirts are only available while supplies last. Register online at runsignup.com/Race/MI/Holt/911HeroRun.

Packet pickup is set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Delhi Fire Department Bays, 2704 Aurelius Road. Pickup on race day is available 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Fire Department and then 5-6:20 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Gardens. Organizers are encouraging participants to register early because same-day registration can’t be guaranteed.
