I have to say that was the scariest storm I ever experienced. A tree fell between our building and the neighbors, literally landing 15 ft from where we stood. The building shook.... God was watching over us. Lots of damage to our fence and debris in the parking lot. So we will be closed for a few days until the power is back on and the mess is cleaned up. If you need to reach us call the coin shop, the land line still works and calls will be forwarded to us. Special thanks to the Marion Police Department for their assistance overnight. I'll share some pics in a few days. God is good!

Here is your History/ Economics lesson for today: Here‘s a 1922 gold certificate. Back in those days our paper currency was backed by gold. You could literally take this note to the bank and get $20 in gold In exchange for it. The coin to its right is a $20 gold piece from 1911. It contains 0.9675 oz pure gold. That’s about $1750 worth of gold at today’s prices. Below the gold certificate is a normal $20 that is currently circulating and to its right is a tiny coin that contains about $20 worth of gold by today’s standards. The dime to its right is just so you can see the size difference. By the way since we are not on the gold standard anymore, don’t bother trying to take your new $20 to the bank and exchange it. Probably not gonna happen....

We will be closed for a couple weeks. Trying to do our part by got giving people a place to go.... We have a couple farm projects we want to tackle and honestly I haven't had a vacation in I-Dont- know-how-long, so we are calling it a staycation.
