This , we would like to introduce our FANTASTIC Breast Navigator, Jennifer Hinson, who will be there with you every step of the way if you are diagnosed with breast cancer🩷
"I initially started working at Baptist Orange back in 2006 in the admissions department and then moved to Women's Imaging as the front desk clerk until I started back to school full time for nursing. I have been a nurse for 5 years. All of which I have been employed with Baptist. First working on 4 South, until I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. In October 2021, I had my first mammogram and shortly after received my diagnosis. So, three years a SURVIVOR!
As a breast navigator, I meet with patients who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer usually at their first consultation either with medical or radiation oncology. At that time, the plan of care is determined and appropriate referrals are made. It is within my role to explain any testing and/or any procedures/surgeries to provide a clear picture of what the patient should expect. It is my responsibility to assist patients with identifying needed resources as well as to provide our patients with helpful information such as the importance of diet, stress management, physical activity, and other risk reduction measures as they apply. As a breast cancer survivor, I know what it feels like to receive such news so it is my personal goal to treat patients with empathy and offer encouragement and hope."
Thank you for the Sacred Work you perform every day, Jennifer🩷

As we continue turning the pages of our story, we were once again blessed by the community with a wonderful Beam Raising Event at the site of our upcoming new cancer center, located at 3180 College Street. Surrounded by the talented providers and staff members who provide Sacred Work to our patients every day, dedicated Board Members, construction professionals at Architectural Alliance Incorporated and Daniels Building & Construction, Inc. , and a host of community leaders, we collectively Stood Up For Cancer, raising the first beams of our new building. Armed with a generous donation by the Mason Family, we will continue pushing forward on the construction of this new facility, which will include the Chuck & Becky Mason Infusion Center. Thank you to all who attended, and continue to support our efforts to detect and treat cancer in our community.
Mark your calendars to join us for Clays to Raise! Benefitting the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas Foundation at the One in One Hundred Gun Club to support Cancer Services. Sponsorships and team opportunities are available now by visiting the Foundation's website:
