This before & after is from the same home in my previous posts. In this dining room we wanted to keep the design sleek and clean to open up and brighten the space, so we went very minimal with the furniture and continued with the black casing for the trim from the rest of the house. I found some great pieces from the Arhaus outlet including the loveseat I used as a bench, the drapes I got from West Elm and the artwork from Architectural Justice. This room really proves that "less is more" and shows the impact the right pieces can have on a space.

Happy Mother's Day! Today I wanted to share another great before & after of one of my latest projects. This study featured a wall of built-ins, so to make them blend more into the space, we painted them a fresh white and added new hardware. We also created an inviting seating area with 4 cozy chairs and a table that they could have morning coffee at while looking out on the amazing view of the backyard. To elevate the space, we also removed the ceiling fan and put a beau chandelier centered over the table. All the window casing trim was also changed to black from the original oak to further play in to the black and white theme of the space.

In this stunning before and after family room, we first started by refinishing the hardwood floors. We knew the theme throughout would be white and black so we darkened the floors and painted the walls off-white with black trim casings for a clean and modern feel.

The room featured several built in bookcases, so here, I chose to make the corner built-in a feature in the room by painting it black to add a little depth and richness to an otherwise bright room.

The existing fireplace application was really broken up visually, so went with a cohesive, floor to ceiling, ship lap treatment. The great part of this fireplace was that it broke up the family room and study in to two separate living spaces without disrupting the flow and worked out perfectly!

For the last 14 months, I’ve had the pleasure of transforming a house from top to bottom and I’m so anxious to show you the before and after!

Our project began with the downstairs powder room. The powder room posed a challenge in that the toilet couldn’t be moved and the depth of the back wall with a mirror to the ceiling and a half recessed wall. The small bathroom just didn’t flow correctly. So, we filled in the recessed wall and applied peel n stick wallpaper; which is a great alternative to regular wallpaper since it won’t damage the wall and it is removable. The vanity couldn’t be centered because of the toilet so I added a beautiful tall plant in the right-hand corner to balance the room out. The pendants gave the space a dimmed look which was pedestrian for a powered room, and let's face it, who doesn’t like to look at themselves in that kind of lighting?!

Mary Lou and Ted's house was such a fun project to do with a great space that just needed some updating! They purchased the furniture on their own and then I came in to accessorize the family room. My motto with buying accessories is to always have a few options, you never know what will work in a space.

Details from this project: Coffee table was purchased from Earla Furniture and Area Rug purchased from Design Center. The decor was purchased from World Market, Home Goods, and At Home. Project turn around time was 2 weeks with an overall budget of just $1,200!

This teenagers room was such a rewarding challenge for me. She wanted to keep core pieces like the drapes, paint color, and furniture (the desk and dresser were originally lime green). So it was essential to tone these elements down a bit by painting them a fresh, crisp white and keeping the bedding somewhat white as well, and accenting with color. I also decluttered and reorganized the space to make things as practical as they are beautiful. In the end, the thing I love most about this project is the light, bright and cheerful feeling this room gives.

The dresser, headboard and chair were purchased at the Arhaus Outlet, the rug and chandelier were found on Overstock.com, the book shelf was bought at World Market, and the bedding was a splurge from Pottery Barn (but the high quality made it worth every penny)!
