"I joined the implementation team at KorTerra in spring 2023 as an Implementation Project Manager. This is my second role working in implementation, so I was familiar with the customer facing logistics of the role, however the field of damage prevention and the technicality of the role was completely foreign to me. It’s safe to say that I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge over this past year.

My first impression of the company was my first phone call with Rebecca from HR. I was obviously nervous for that first interview, but I found her to be extremely personable and endearing which made me feel at home already. After meeting Erik (my current manager) and the rest of my team, I found them to emulate the same welcoming warmth and support. I felt valued and seen as a person, not just a filled position. Now, being on the inside I can see how the company continues to make steps towards enhancing this strength with constant potlucks, kickball games, happy hours, contests, KorTalks, monthly pizza parties and not to mention new internal career development programs and opportunities.

My favorite project so far is the ongoing Emerging Leaders Program that KorTerra started this year. There’s been so much value in learning all the technical requirements of my role over the past year, but this new program has been a really nice opportunity to take an objective look at my strengths and weaknesses and work more on my own interpersonal goals while trying to create a path for my future with the company.

My proudest moment would have to be my latest annual review. Like I mentioned above, this field was completely foreign territory for me when I first joined, and everyday initially felt like drinking from a firehose. So, to reflect on where I started to where I am today is a big point of pride for myself, and to not only be validated on that effort but also hear the value I’ve added to the team spelled out for me was very intrinsically rewarding and motivating for me."
