This Memorial Day, we come together as a nation to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to defending our freedoms will forever be etched in our hearts.
We also want to pay special tribute to those awarded the Purple Heart, a symbol of their sacrifice and valor. These courageous individuals faced unimaginable challenges and endured tremendous hardships in defense of our nation.
At the Purple Heart Foundation, we are committed to honoring the legacy of these heroes and supporting their fellow service members and veterans. Through our programs and services, we provide essential assistance to those wounded or otherwise served with honor in defense of our freedom.
We cannot do this important work alone. As we reflect on the sacrifices of our brave servicemen and women this Memorial Day, we ask for your support. Yesterday morning (5/7/24) one of our team members was driving westbound on rt 480 when someone fired shots at our truck / driver!
Thankfully, no one was injured.
We are greatly concerned for the safety of our team and our community.

Amvets Wheeling Post 66, is proud to support the Midwest Veterans Closet and the Recreation Services Department at the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center, with a donation of 6 boxes of Winter Coats, and Menโs Apparel to MVC and 3 boxes to Lovell FHCC. The over 100 coats and other articles of clothing were collected at the Wheeling Village Hall from the generosity of a local church from the greater Wheeling Area and were delivered to the facilities in North Chicago, IL for distribution to Veterans in need.
