Here I go ...
First, I need to register your domain name, so y'all can easily find the initial webpage through a search engine. 🙂
Second, I need to find a web hosting company (most likely AWS, but I'll go with a balance of cost and optimization). I've plenty of content to import from the Lakes Lancers social media presence to last for years ... lol. 😁
Next, I'll need new content and photos. I'll need to pay photographers for photos—a possible job for a current LL into photography. 🤔
Finally, I'll need to scale the webpage to a website for the Lakes High School Alumni Association. 🥳
On Thursday, 28 January 2021, or sooner, I'll secure a domain name. 🤫
Next week, I'll start researching web host, LL logos, webpage content, and non-profit legalities. 🤪
If you'd like to donate to the initial process, a PayPal account has been established at paypal.me/lakeslancers. 😇
Once A Lancer, Always A Lancer. 💪
When I established the Lakes Lancers social media presence, an alumnus reached out to me with a magnanimous offer. Instead of giving to every campaign to support current and pending Lakes Lancers, she offered her childhood home in Lakewood as a gift. I was overwhelmed with her generosity; but, I wasn’t focused on scaling Lakes Lancers' social media presence or managing a real estate asset from Australia. To her surprised, I turned down the gift and she continued to give until she died in 2017. 😕
Several years ago, a talented Lakes Lancer (LL) needed support to compete and represent Lakes High School at a national level. Over 200 LLs gave to his campaign via Lakes Lancers on Facebook. Some LLs that worked for Alaska Airlines were able to gift a roundtrip ticket and accommodations for him. 🙂
Most recently, a LL needed support to relocate to law school on the east coast of the United States. Her campaign exceeded her expectations by over $2K thanks to LL alumni, LL supporters, and friends of LLs. 🙂
It feels good to help others, especially with those with whom we share common threads. With the common thread in mind, I want to establish the Lakes High School Alumni Association (LHSAA) to enhance Lakes Lancers’ opportunities. 🙃
My vision for the LHSAA will be independent of the Clover Park School District and Lakes High School. Yet, the entity will be an official entity with the founding executive officers and the initial board members being Lakes High School Alumni. 🤔
Stay tuned for the crowdfunding Kickstarter starting approximately 1 week of February 2021. 😁
New Administration ... Let's get this party started right, let's get the party started quickly.

Lakes High School in Lakewood, Washington was established in 1962. 🙂 That's just under 70 years of Lakes Lancers. 😇
That's at the very least, 50K alumni ... microtransactions campaigns could work very well in this environment. 🥳

Hi Everyone,
I’m Ken Jones, a Lakes High School alumnus from the class of 1979, the founder of the Lakes Lancers (LL) social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Additionally, I’m the Lakes Lancer behind the mantra “Once A Lancer, Always A Lancer.”
In 2008, I started the social media presence with two simple goals: reconnect Lakes High School alumni with our alma mater and build bonds between Lakes’ current student body and Lakes’ alumni.
Initially, I created the Lakes Lancers Football Group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/43359185678) to generate support for the Lakes Football Booster Club (https://www.facebook.com/Lakes-Football-Booster-Club-113955228690629), which I also created for the booster club’s management.
Next, to help Lakes’ Lady Lancers Basketball team generate financial support to compete in Washington, Oregon, and California basketball tournaments, I created a Facebook group for the ladies’ basketball team, https://www.facebook.com/groups/117229065015934.
After several alumni reached out to me with requests to promote their class reunions, I created Facebook groups for every graduating class in the history of Lakes High School in Lakewood, Washington. Over the years, I constructed and modified over 80 Facebook groups and pages.
Now, Lakes Lancers (https://www.facebook.com/LakesLancers) and Lakes High School Alumni Association, https://www.facebook.com/LakesHighSchoolAlumniAssociation are the most managed pages.
I initiated new social presences in new platforms for Lakes alumni, Lakes Lancers’ supporters, current and pending Lakes Lancers to interact. The Twitter profile (https://twitter.com/LakesLancers) has been active for over 8 years and the Instagram profile (https://www.instagram.com/lakeslancers/) has been active for over 5 years.
Recently, Facebook made a version upgrade and I lost a lot of content, over 8 years' worth of content. With Facebook’s last upgrade and my loss of too much content from Facebook’s elimination of Notes, I decided to create a Lakes Lancers website.
The crowdfunding campaign will start on February 1, 2021.
For over a decade, I have repeated an African proverb to Lakes Lancers when trying to motivate them, “If you want to go fast, go alone; but, if you want to go far, go together.
Let’s go together.

I learned that Facebook has discontinued Facebook Notes and I can't access over 400 Facebook notes in various Facebook groups and pages! 😳
Facebook makes changes with notifications, then you can access your content! 🤬 That's it! Enough! I'm migrating this social media presence to a website. 🤔 Stay tuned for coming information. 🤓
I want to see the classes of 2021-24 earn a near normal opportunity to enjoy high school. 🤓
Y'all may have to motivate your parents to motivate politicians to activate their elected power to legislate. 🤔
