Water Break? No Problem! You may have noticed this truck (Tanker 831) sitting at our station yesterday as part of our operational plans due to a water break affecting several entities, including a nursing home in our jurisdiction. Providing 3000 gallons of refreshing water, this tanker provides the extra💧needed for any 🔥 that could have broken out. We have great two-way partnerships to protect life and property within our reach. Thanks again National Trail Fire!

Thanks to YOUR support, we were able to present Frazeysburg Fire-Rescue, Inc. with $2500 from the fill the boot drive at our BBQ! This comes from $1,491 in the boot, $1,000 match from our proceeds, and a $9 anonymous round up donor. We always say we have the best community, and you continue to prove that! Thank you for helping us provide a little relief to our neighboring Fire Department!

Tonight, we also presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Fallsburg Pizza. On the night of the Tornado, Fallsburg Pizza went out of their way to make sure first responders and their community were taken care of. Even after suffering significant damage, they provided several cases of water and pop to the emergency shelter, incident command post, and first responders. When they are able to re-open (hopefully in August), please give them a visit!

FILL THE BOOT FOR FRAZEYSBURG FIRE!
As many of you are aware, an EF2 tornado hit last week, which caused the 1st night of Frazeysburg's homecoming to be canceled. This is the Fire Departments biggest fundraiser. On Sunday, June 16th, during our Chicken BBQ, we will have a fill the boot for Frazeysburg Fire-Rescue, Inc. and we will match all of the donations up to $1,000 from our proceeds to present to them. If you are able, please bring a donation for the boot! Thank-you!

Today is the Statewide Tornado Drill, which will begin at 9:50 a.m. Sirens will sound at that time.

Sirens are intended to notify those who are outside to seek immediate shelter. Review your home or business safety plans and practice them!

Pray for Logan County! Last night a Statewide Mutual Aid request was sent out for Logan County due to destruction from a tornado. Our Chief immediately put us on the list to send an Engine (Fire Truck) and Chief if they are needed. This would not affect our response locally, and we will pass along if we are activated.

***Two separate house fires overnight***

Last night at 11:24pm, Falls Township firefighters responded to a house fire on Highland Road. We were assisted by Zanesville Fire Department, Washington Fire Department,Inc., and Licking Township EMS & Fire Department INC. The occupants of the home were alerted and awakened by a smoke alarm. They discovered a fire in the kitchen and were able to evacuate safely. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

At 4:28am, Falls Township firefighters responded to a house fire on Georgia Road. We were assisted by Dresden Volunteer Fire Department-Ohio, Frazeysburg Fire-Rescue, Inc., Licking Township EMS & Fire Department INC., Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, and Genesis Community Ambulance. The occupant of the home was awakened by a loud popping sound and discovered the garage was on fire. The occupant was able to alert family members, and all were able to evacuate safely.

Again, I want to remind everyone to ensure they have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Here is another example of them working and saving lives.

This week our crews have been conducting hands vehicle extrication training. This training focused on using the tools we have to stabilize vehicles and remove victims entraped and entangled in vehicles. A big thank you to Just Junk It and their staff for making this possible.

Yesterday, the fire department held its annual Christmas Party / Awards Banquet. 2023 marks the fire department's 60th anniversary. We also celebrated 60 years of service with founding member Clarence Holbein. Clarence is still an active member of the department. Over the years, Clarence has held positions on the administrative board, captain, assistant chief, and fire chief. Please help me give a heartfelt congratulations to Clarence for 60 years of service...and still counting!

We had a wonderful evening of fellowship and laughs. Thank you to all who attended!

Thank you to Congressman Troy Balderson and the Falls Township Trustees for attending and presenting proclamations to the department and Clarence Holbein.

Thank you to Weatherington Woods for a beautiful venue to celebrate with our members and family!

...ENHANCED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON...
The combination of a very dry atmosphere and low fuel moisture will result in an enhanced fire danger this afternoon. Occasional wind gusts to 20 mph will also be possible.

Ohio is still under the BURN BAN. Please do not burn.

Many great things continue to come out of the West Muskingum FFA program. It was great helping them celebrate their awesome achievements! Congratulations to the recipients and their Advisor and volunteers that have worked to continue to build the program.

Thank you for the support in the passage of our fire levy. We are proud to be your fire department for the past 60 years!

VOTE YES FALLS TOWNSHIP FIRE LEVY!
With your help we remain "Dedicated to the preservation and the protection of life and property" as our founding members wrote into our mission statement 60 years ago! We have and continue to improve response times, especially by the addition of paid staff and continuing to improve equipment. This has also allowed us to improve our Insurance Services Offices (ISO) rating from a 5/9 to 4/4y, resulting in reduced home insurance rates for many of our residents. Please continue to show your support by voting YES!

Photos from Falls Township Volunteer Fire Department Inc.'s post 02/11/2023

VOTE YES FALLS TOWNSHIP FIRE LEVY! BOTH of our levies expire this year, and they are consolidated as one on the ballot. This appears on the ballot as "a renewal of 2.5 mills and an increase of 2 mills", "not exceeding 4.5 mills". The attached graphic helps explain how these are combined with an increase in total of .8 mills. A letter was mailed with more information. With skyrocketing costs, we ask for your help to maintain services to you and your neighbors! Thank you for all of the support over the years!

Excellent Ladder training tonight in collaboration with Dresden Volunteer Fire Department-Ohio We have great school districts in our areas that give us permission to train on their properties. A great WIN WIN for both organizations, allowing us to be ready in case an emergency occurs there or in the community. Tonight's focus was familiarizing both departments with eachothers equipment and tactics.

Please comment below with your neighborhood Trick or Treat times and Street/Roads so we can add it to our list. This is for Falls and Muskingum Townships.
