Family Child Care Appreciation Week!

Our 1st full week outside.. finally! It was such a beautiful week. The kids played, we have snacks and a picnic lunch outside.

Forgot to post our sensory tubs for February. These were a little messy with the rice, bit the kids had fun!

I know many will disagree, but this is so true and really crucial to understand.
There. Is. Time.
There are no emergencies when it comes to learning.
Don’t fall victim to the scare tactics and pressures set by an outdated and incredibly broken system.

We are not designed to all learn the exact same things at the exact same time in the exact same way.
These standards and benchmarks are arbitrary and often used to frighten parents and children to fit a mold that is not necessarily right for them.

It’s ok to breathe,
To sit back and see where your child leads to give them time to decide what direction they want to move.
It’s ok to take breaks, pivot, find different resources, ask for help, trust your gut. It’s ok to question your child’s learning environment and make changes for you and children.

We are living in a strange time but I do have great hope that education as we’ve always known it is being reshaped and redefined

Please don’t let those who are comfortable with the dysfunction and those who are grasping to remain in control of the system allow you to feel rushed and anxious about your child’s learning progress.
No matter the worry I promise that the time will come and the learning will happen
