Invitation to Join and Witness in the of of
I am pleased to invite you to join and witness Darshini Desai for the defense of her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in the Molecular, Cellular, and Biochemical Pharmacology program, Department of Pharmacology and Systems Physiology, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm in MSB 5051. Ms. Desai’s dissertation is entitled “Unraveling the Impact of MYBPC3 Variant Using hiPSC-Derived Cardiac Organoids.
Ms. Desai is my fifth PhD student, and she has successfully completed an American Heart Association predoctoral fellowship (20PRE35120272, Jan 2020-Dec 2021), three publications (PMID: 35832193, PMID: 32670090, PMID: 32656747 and bioRxiv pending), and received numerous awards and oral presentations at national meetings. She also spent six months at Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2023 as a research intern to learn more about industrial research operations and projects. Additionally, she has secured a postdoctoral position at a leading academic institution, which will commence soon. I am thrilled to see her grow and succeed as a scientist, and I wish her the best as she publicly defends her thesis work.
