All diets have one thing in common….they decrease your calories. Whether you are doing a keto diet, a paleo diet, whole30 diet, smoothie diet….with each, you are eliminating out foods (probably foods you love) and therefore you reduce your calories. And initially you will see weight loss, but what happens when you can’t sustain the diet any longer? Well, you most likely gain the weight back.
I help people learn how all foods fit without completely eliminating out foods. Because finding a balance and changing your mindset about food is essential.

Carbs get a bad wrap.
Typically when people look to lose weight, get healthier, they believe they need to eliminate out carbs to do so.
Here’s the thing, there isn’t one food that makes you gain weight just like there isn’t one food that makes you lose weight.
It’s eating at a calorie surplus for an extended period of time that causes weight gain.
But it’s also not that straight forward. Especially when us women start to enter into perimenopause and menopause. Hormone changes play a huge role in our health as well.
But when you learn how to fuel your body, you learn your body NEEDS carbs!
Carbs are our bodies preferred source of energy.
They give us energy.
They give our brains fuel.
It supports our hormones!
So don’t get all crazy and eliminate out carbs.
Here are some great types of carbs that can be great for you:
Fruit (all kinds!)
Rice (brown, white, black…)
Potatoes (sweet, red, white…)
Quinoa
Beans
Zucchini
Squash
