Creating a safer and more educated community one class at a time.

Yesterday’s “Defensive Pistol” course had a diverse class with varying levels of experience from not really ever touching a pistol to serving in the United States Airforce as a Security Force Officer.

Like all of our courses, we don’t train to time, we train to standards and objectives. This class being a little smaller, we were able to give the students more than they expected.

Topics covered:
- Importance of firearm safety
- Tactical mindset
- Anatomy of the modern shooting position
- Line of sight considerations in a public place
- Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship
- Point Shooting
- One handed engagements and why they are practical
- Malfunctions and how to fix them
- Multiple target engagement
- Shooting on the move (in all directions)
- Cover Vs. Concealment
- Engaging targets behind a barricade

We also got to raise some heart rates and make the range day pretty dynamic!

Videos to follow!

Thank you all for coming out and training with us! We appreciate you and can’t wait to see you again!

The Sniper Experience Day 5 continued:

4 men who didn’t know each other 5 days prior put all skills they have learned together and executed a Recon & Surveillance mission. How long did it last ? Until it was done, and the mission was complete.

They are debriefed on the what went well, and what went wrong. The reality is a mission rarely goes 100% to plan, and these men got to experience that.

They had to remain undetected and move under the cover of night using night vision.

Without giving too much away; They learned a lot.

The instructors calculated final GPAs and identified the Honor Grad, High Shooter, who passed, and who merely completed the course.

All 4 of the remaining students graduated the course, displaying a level of mastery predetermined by all instructors prior to the conduct of The Sniper Experience.

The graded events were:

- Day and Night Land Navigation
- Known and Unknown Distance Marksmanship
- Concealment & Stalking
- Observation
- Keep in Memory Games
- Mission Reporting
- Mission Conduct & Teamwork
-Written Exam

The instructors then shared a beer and breakfast as the sun came up.

Well done boys. We’re proud of each one of you.

Huge shout out to for providing a cert to the Honor graduate and High shooter as well as hats and note taking gear for all! We use MGM steel for all of our classes and are grateful for the amazing product they provide! As@long as you take care of it and don’t mistreat it, it takes care of you!

Also, another huge shout out to for providing two badass slings for the honor grad and high shooter as well! You guys rock!

The Sniper Experience Day 4 continued:

After students have successfully demonstrated that they can in fact set up a final firing position they make a movement to a pre determined “Veg Site”.

This veg site is 1000 yards away from the objective they each need to observe.

The mission? Get within 300 yards without being detected while trained observers are looking for you.

Students must carefully choose their vegetation, route and final firing position location to successfully get within 300 yards. Once they’re there they “take their shot”. They also must be able to clearly ID items from the objective. The observers work in tandem with a “walker” who does not give any indication where the student may be; they’re given two opportunities to find the students.

If they pass, and are not spotted, the student must break down their position and E&E. The challenge to this is all eyes are now in your general direction.

If students make it to the E&E location , they are given the go ahead to pack up and run back to the truck.

The Sniper Experience Day 4:

Now that Ghillie Suits are broken in and students understand how to utilize their we@pom systems and tripods they grab their binoculars and begin to observe.

They are trying to spot a 6’3 240lb sniper in the hills. They are given a left and right lateral limit as well as a “no closer or further” than limit. Students were walked in closer to the sniper at 100+ yard intervals.

They did not find the sniper until almost stepping on him.

The sniper then taught the students about vegetation selection, final firing point selection, negative & positive space, and a few more concepts.

Students then are taken to a predetermined “Veg site” and split up to do a practice “concealment”. Not a full stalk. Here students had instructor guidance on position and everything that goes into the FFP.

The Sniper Experience Day 3:

On day three students wake up and head to the range to expand on the skills from day 2.

The major difference being there is little to no belly shooting. They are taught how to shoot from alternate platforms and positions. Students also learn several Rapid Target Engagement techniques.

Additionally they are taught how to do range estimation with their optics and several visual techniques. No ranges are given today. It is all ranged independently and then buddy checked by their spotter. Students are expected to be able to range their targets within 10% of the true distance to be able to impact the targets that are placed irregularly around the range.

There have already been dozens of experts in the industry commenting on the events that took place yesterday.

Our $.02 for what it’s worth.

1. The advanced team who showed up prior to the event failed to ID vantage points. OR someone failed to listen to them.

2. If there is an elevated position that can see the stage, place a team on it or secure it. This could be local LEOs doesn’t have to be SS. Again, this would be identified in advanced work.

3.Perimeter Security failed. Likely adjacent units & SS.

4. Coordination / Communication between SS and Adjacent failed.

5. Complacency: All, present, trained individuals to include: Sniper teams, Local LEOs, all SS agents, CAT teams should have identified all of these threats again , the day of, prior to President Trump taking stage and verified they were not accessible.

6. Why isn’t the SS or adjacent utilizing drone surveillance?

7. The Sniper team identified the threat and placed precision shots on the shooter quickly after the initial incident. He likely prevented much loss of life.

I sincerely hope this wakes up professionals in the industry that are responsible for the safety and security of not just the president, but everyone.

The Sniper Experience Day 2 continued.

After the students have gotten time to chronograph their rifles, and build their profile in their chosen ballistic computer (here they used kestrels or the ballistic app) we spoke about wind.

We have formulas and quick wind charts but nothing beats observation and smoke. So students get behind glass, make observations based on terrain and call out a wind call. After that we pop smoke and students solidify their call. The instructor then verifies true wind speed.

Each student is explained what a gun number is and how to find it.

Then data collection begins on given distances. Shooters and spotters use this time to build some chemistry with their communication.

The day concludes with the “Known Distance Qualification” and more ghillie work.

Why should you choose me?

I am starting this venture with one goal and that is to “Make the world a safer place”. I am tired of seeing half taught classes because instructors want to make a quick buck and exploit the average individuals desire to carry a firearm concealed. The bottom line is if you go to a class that has improper instruction you are more likely to have an “ND” (Negligent Discharge) or other accident because of a false sense of security and knowledge. If you come to my classes you are getting not only my NRA instructing expertise but also years of Marine Corps and Army fi****ms instruction. I have taught everyone from rifle and pistol “Experts” to individuals who could not properly tell the difference in a 9mm or a 45ACP. If either of these sound like you I have training that could benefit you.

No more feeling belittled or second guessing yourself. When you leave my class you will be informed and empowered.

I look forward to having you attend my class.
