How to Prepare Your Dog to Be Left at Home Alone (Again) 29/05/2020

As Baltimore County opens up more and things start to pick back up a bit for many of us, it's time to think about helping gradually ease furry family members who have enjoyed having human company all day back into more normal routines. With a little help, they'll remember that it's not the end of the world when all of their humans have to leave home for a while!

We hope that everyone is staying as safe as possible in these difficult times. If you need us, Pet Sitters, LLC is still here. Caring for other people's live animals at their homes is allowed under the current stay-at-home order. Whether you are working long hours at a hospital or other essential job that can't be done from home, or become ill or injured yourself, dog walkers and pet sitters can still help you.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] or 443-986-0438 even if you are not one of the clients still getting ongoing visits at this time. We are taking precautions to avoid cross-contamination between homes and avoid direct contact with (human) clients, and we are happy to discuss possible modifications to your pets' usual visit routines to protect humans' health while still providing a high level of care to the pets.

These states have the fattest pets — and they might surprise you

Fortunately, Maryland doesn't make the top 10 list of shame for obese cats or dogs. Whew! Remember to monitor your pets' condition regularly, though. We know it's tempting to give lots of goodies just to see the excitement on those furry faces, but there are lots of other ways to show affection while maintaining a healthy weight, too.

washingtonpost.com Pet obesity and people obesity doesn't necessarily correlate, according to a new report.

Cats are an extreme outlier among domestic animals

We aren't in Ann Arundal but these guidelines should still be followed. In the olden days, the dogs could find their own den but most yards don't have that as an option. In the olden days, severe weather eliminated many pets. That does not have to happen now.

PLEASE SHARE: Bring your pets in ! A Severe Weather Animal Emergency has been declared in Anne Arundel County until further notice. The information in the attached explains what impact this declaration has on pet owners and animals outdoors unattended in Anne Arundel County. Help us make sure everyone knows!
