In 2021, HACA created the Job Readiness and Career Development Grant to help members pay for job training programs and/or certification to support their career goals. The program is open year-round, and the amount awarded will vary.

HACA’s vWD and Ultra-Rare Bleeding Disorders Education Day will take place on Saturday, July 27, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Walter Reed Recreation Center in Arlington, VA. This event is open to all those with vWD, people with ultra-rare bleeding disorders, and anyone who wants to learn more about the topics on this year’s agenda. HACA is extending the deadline to nominate your child for CSL Behring’s Gettin’ in the Game Junior National Championship in Henderson, NV, September 20-22.

If your child is interested in participating, download the application and submit to HACA by Wednesday, July 3. Winners will be notified by July 10, and event planners will contact parents to coordinate travel details.

A huge heartfelt thank you to all those who supported HACA through our online auction and event at Two Twisted Posts on May 18! Your donations will help with programs such as our travel grants for national meetings and educational scholarships for students.

We ended up raising more than $3,000 through our spring fundraiser, with more than $1,700 raised through the auction. Thanks to everyone who bid on items! The George & Linda Price Scholarship applications are now available on the HACA website. This scholarship is open to those pursuing a traditional college degree, working on graduate level studies, or attending a technical school. You must live in the HACA coverage area, and preference is given to those who are active HACA members. Deadline to submit an application is June 1.
