This is a hard post to write.

When MA went into quarantine, we pivoted in a millisecond and started making kits for y’all to stay busy at home. Then the distance learning began, and it was a bit of a struggle to keep up with everything but I was determined to keep going.

When school got out and camps were canceling, we realized that B+E as a brick & mortar wasn’t going to survive til whenever this COVID nightmare goes away, so we backed out of our lease.

Not one to go down without a fight, I put together a plan to do 5 kids’ craft kits over the summer in an attempt to keep our brand alive, help out parents, and give me a little work to do for my own sanity (while juggling keeping our own two kids busy).

Sadly our first two kits didn’t sell through as well as we expected, so I’ve made the decision not to continue with the remaining projects for the summer. As I look toward Fall, and probably beginning a job search, I likely won’t have a summer “off” til...retirement? So I’m going to try to enjoy the rest of the summer, bake and paint and hike and snuggle our puppy and crochet and try to get our pop up pool warm enough to actually swim in and eat popsicles and watch movies and stay in our pjs all day.

I still have ideas of what B+E could be, someday, maybe. For now, we still have some materials left if you’re looking for a decor item, so give me a holler. But we just got Disney+ so it might be a second before I get back to you 😉

Well. It’s been quite the few months, hasn’t it?
Let us first say—we hope you are healthy and safe. We’ve missed welcoming the groups of friends who would congregate each weekend, celebrating milestones and creating together just because.

While our brick and mortar store will remain closed, we still want to help keep little hands busy this summer.
We see you working parents—with camps closed and childcare hard to come by, we’re hoping to help by offering a new kit every other week!
