My dental practice is in The Village at Mendota Heights Last week a police officer from Mendota Heights was shot and killed in a routine traffic stop. It was a couple of blocks from my office and we knew something was going on because of the helicopters. Tomorrow is the funeral and there will be a big procession going down the main road going by my office. We have called several patients because we don't know if they will be able to get to us. Dan is out of town tonight and I just decided to go to Chipotle on South Robert Street in West St. Paul to get some dinner. I didn't know that I would drive by the church where they are having the visitation before the funeral. It was so impressive. Vietnam vets standing every where with flags. Police doing the same. It was really inspiring. My operatories look out at our flag and it is a good reminder when you see it half mast, and also so sad. Dan "installed" a flag on our house last week. When we spend time in South Carolina, we are amazed at the flags which are everywhere. I like that and will be on Dodd Road waving my flag! ~ Dr. Frederick
