It's been a while but there is plenty to be said about our criminal justice system. The police have finally made an arrest in the missing persons case of Akia and baby after almost 5 years. The assailant was tracked down in Michigan and transported back to Maryland. He is currently in jail in Baltimore where he will be charged formally with the murder of Akia while she was 8 months pregnant. There is still a long road ahead of us. We ask that you continue to pray for our family as we seek justice for our loved one's.

First night of Black and Missing is tear jerking. Can't believe that this problem has never been addressed until now. Hope that this new awareness opens the doors for families of color to have resolve.

There is a huge issue within our community that is near and dear to my heart. That issue is missing people of color and the disparities in the cases that are never heard. My family has been dealing with this issue for over 4 years with my eldest daughter and unborn grandson. We have had the opportunity to work with The Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI) to bring awareness to these issues and now after 3 years in the making a nationally syndicated HBO special on this issue will be released today.

Black and Missing is a four-part HBO documentary series by multiple Emmy winner Geeta Gandbhir and award-winning documentarian, journalist, author and activist Soledad O’Brien. The series follows sisters-in-law and Black and Missing Foundation founders Derrica and Natalie Wilson as they fight an uphill battle to bring awareness to the Black missing person cases that are marginalized by law enforcement and national media.

Good morning the rain has ended and the sun is shining on today. I wanted to say Happy Birthday sweetheart. You are truly missed and I and the family are still keeping you and the baby boy in our deepest prayers. We are still fighting for your return every chance possible. There are no words to describe these days since you have been gone. I try to laugh with your daughter as she is growing up without you. I cry deep inside because I do not know where you are and if your okay. Will no one speak on your behalf. What happened to you? Will anyone step forward from the community? Is there a friend who knows more than they are saying? Did you confide in someone who knows the truth? What is the one thing the police are missing that can bring you home? Have the police absolutely spoken to everyone they could have? Have they really put the vice down on those who have information? Please God release us from this bo***ge, it hurts way too deep!!! Loss is part of life but the not knowing is what keeps the fight alive. Again, wishing you a happy birthday baby girl!!!! Hope to see you soon!!!

Time has gone on......
Years have passed, months have surpassed your face, weeks have brought no new answers, days have had no new joys about your life, hours have not enough time to seek you, minutes give not sunlight to find you and seconds hold no infinite amount of love that I feel for you. You are growing so incredibly forgotten by many around because your presence is not felt and your smile is not seen in the world. O what would you be and how would your son be growing into a young gentlemen right before our eyes. Your life has been paused with an invisible stop and play button with the record broken. How it seems that some say you have fled, not true, walked away from life, family and your precious little gem, not true maybe needed a break, not true its been to long away from the ones who truly loved you. I am blinded by the words that many say, taken by the actions that many people have done, frustrated by the lack of police assistance and community envolvement. The breath that is in someone can speak peace and life unto those dying inside but their fear is entrapped because they are bottled with no inspiring words of a reputable surgical fix that would provide a justice to the justice of our loved ones.
A missing face in the abstract of this entire situation has encapsulated the social media scene but still no answers, how long o'lord how long? I hope that soon and very soon the courage of one person will step to the plates of the weights of Akias case. She is a missing face in the crowd of so many and this is a plea to help find her once again.

Missing going into the new year. High hopes that answers will be found concerning where you are. Police are stifled by this mystery. Can't believe going into year number 4 with the same answers from year 1. Still looking to see who will have the courage to speak up, give a tip or confess to what happened to Akia. So many persons who knew her but now no one even seeks to find answers. No one asking questions is what happens overtime. The police told me once there are 2 types of families in this situation: a. Those families who give up because there are no results or b. Those individuals who no matter what stay on top of the police and become a thorn in their side. I have become "B" and they hate when I call weekly. Listen here I will not stop until Akia and Baby Boy Eggleston are found. Help has become limited and those seeking any recognition have fallen off. This is another job and it sucks!!. Contacting the Mayor, Police Victims Advocates, Missing persons advocates, and anyone who will listen is draining but I go on for the sake of Akia. Her life is meaningful to me and I can't wait until whomever has harmed her or has information about her comes forward. Well 2021 here I come with a new drive to be a bigger thorn in the side of BMORE Police.

As the year seems to be an unfortunate one with all of the deaths from COVID-19 we must still never forget our lives ones who have been gone prior too. Please stay on top of your cases. No letting the police just forget and do nothing. A strong line of communication is important even if it makes them mad that your calling. I know for a fact it makes the detective on Akia's case mad but who cares.

Stay strong, stay on task and keep the heat on the police.
