Start your collagen-boosting journey early in life to stay ahead of the game! Sun exposure and aging naturally deplete our collagen levels, but with microneedling, we can fight back!
Microneedling stimulates collagen production through a process known as collagen induction therapy. During microneedling, a device equipped with tiny, fine needles creates microchannels in the skin, essentially small punctures. These controlled injuries are not deep enough to cause significant damage but are sufficient to activate the body's repair mechanisms.
The body responds to the micro-injuries by sending blood to the affected area. This brings an influx of growth factors and immune cells, which help initiate healing.
Fibroblasts, specialized cells responsible for producing collagen, are stimulated by the growth factors and cytokines released during the inflammatory response. These fibroblasts migrate to the treated area and begin synthesizing new collagen fibers.
Collagen gives the skin strength and firmness, helping combat sagging and maintain a youthful appearance. Microneedling can minimize the appearance of scars, including those from acne or surgery, as it stimulates the growth of new collagen-rich tissue. Microneedling can also help improve skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation by promoting the turnover of damaged skin cells and encouraging the development of new, healthy ones.

Chemical peels can be light, medium, or deep. The ingredients in a chemical peel and the length of time it is on the skin determine its strength, how much downtime it requires, and what kind of results you can expect.
Here we treated a patient with a medium-depth chemical peel from Vitality Institute (VI Peel™). The VI peels are a medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel containing a blend of acids, retinol, and vitamin C. Medium-depth peels pe*****te the papillary dermis below the epidermis to treat deeper skin concerns that light peels can’t resolve. A good candidate for a medium-depth peel is someone with skin issues such as acne scarring, melasma, hyperpigmentation, or any signs of aging. Medium peels cannot, however, treat deep ice pick scars or raised keloid scars.
VI Peels are non-invasive and pain-free. Downtime is 5-9 days of redness and peeling. Some patients only get a little flaky, whereas others have thick sheets of skin peeling off that need to be trimmed. It is crucial that patients do not augment the peeling process with retinol, chemical exfoliants, or manual removal, as this can lead to inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring. Once patients finish peeling, results are immediately apparent. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, back, back of hands, etc.

What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that utilizes a medical-grade scalpel to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair (aka "peach fuzz") from the skin's surface.
Why is dermaplaning helpful in skincare?
Dermaplaning can do much more than just exfoliate your skin. Removing the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hairs allows the pores to breathe and reduces the number of breakouts; preps the skin for any treatment that is done afterward by allowing for more effective product pe*******on; decreases dullness and allows for smoother makeup application; and increases cellular turnover which helps rid the skin of hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and other impurities.
Does dermaplaning make your hair grow back darker and thicker?
No, this is a myth. Removing vellus hairs does not change the biological structure of the hair follicle.
Patients typically get used to the smooth, hairless look and forget what their face looks and feels like with peach fuzz. Because of this, they get the impression that it grows back thicker.
How often should I dermaplane?
This will depend on your skin type and goals. We recommend for most patients to dermaplane once every 4 weeks.
Who should avoid dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is not recommended for patients with severe sunburn, active acne breakouts, sensitive skin, and anyone who has been on Accutane in the past 6 months.

Booking & Cancellation Policy Update:
We require a minimum of 72-hour notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments. As of June 1st, 2023, failure to adhere to this policy will result in a $500 charge per missed appointment. If you are no longer able to make your appointment, please call, text, or e-mail us to cancel or reschedule your appointment. We very much appreciate your compliance with this policy, so that we can be most efficient with treating available patients.
Credit card information will be required when booking. If you have not provided your credit card information or received an appointment confirmation, your appointment has not been booked. We are unable to hold appointment times while waiting for credit card information from patients. Appointment booking is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
For new patients, we also require a full name, DOB, e-mail, and phone information. Our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Secure Pay software will securely store information on file.
We will no longer be able to accommodate patients who arrive 15 minutes (or more) late to their appointment. It is important to us that we stay on time for all patients in our practice. We appreciate your promptness.

HydraFacial MD® and DiamondGlow® are machine-assisted facials that exfoliate the skin, extract dirt and oil, and infuse serums.
One is not inherently “better” than the other, so we offer both! The answer usually depends on the skincare needs and goals of the individual patient. These two treatments provide several benefits with no associated downtime.
Exfoliation: Skin cells turnover approximately every 28 days replacing dead skin cells with new skin cells. A buildup of dead skin cells can appear on the surface, leading to dull, textured skin, and congested pores. Exfoliating helps remove the excess dead skin cells and allows pores to breathe and new tissues to emerge.
Extraction: A suction tool cleans the pores deeply and extracts any accumulated dirt.
Infusion: Hydrafacial MD® is an all-encompassing facial that utilizes several serums to address many skincare concerns. A combination of peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid nourishes the skin. Boosters are available for specific skincare concerns. Reading the ingredients, you can tell if your sunscreen is chemical or physical. It is a physical sunscreen if you see minerals such as titanium oxide and/or zinc oxide. These ingredients work like shields on top of the skin, creating a barrier that blocks and deflects UVA/UVB rays.
What we like:
👍🏼 Works immediately when applied
👍🏼 Safer for sensitive skin, melasma, children, and pregnant patients
👍🏼 Doesn't promote as much heat within the skin
What we don’t like
👎🏼 Some may leave a white cast which is why we love the tinted options!

Chemical sunscreens are made with organic carbon-based compounds such as Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Homosalate, etc. These ingredients absorb into the skin and allow UVA/UVB rays to pe*****te into the skin, but convert them into non-damaging wavelengths of light and heat.
