What an incredible experience it was to share my art with the public. I had a lot of reserves in doing this event at the Decatur Hospital fund raiser. Crowds are not my comfort zone. I prefer a one-on-one type of setting. I like establishing a relationship with my potential clients. It's important to explain the amount of work that goes into a piece. Some of my bracelets take up to 72 hrs of tedious detailed work to see an end product that satisfies my quality standards. If it's not technically perfect (not a bead out of place or missing) it doesn't end up on the display table. It ends up on the scrap pile to be disassembled. One of my major goals as a creator is to create eye catching imaginative pieces. The more you look closely at my work, the more you will see the subtleties that contribute to an overall eye-catching design. There are many bead design tutorials to be found on YouTube. My experience is that many of them work and look good on the table only. When you try to make it happen, the physics just don't work. The piece loses its shape, and it looks a mess. So, I have to come up with ways to make the shape keep no matter how much movement it's subjected to. That's why I reinforce my work so many times. I a*o often correct the physics of a design to ensure that under any circumstance or tork it's subjected to, it will keep its form. This art form is not about making money. Most Bead Weavers DO NOT SELL THEIR WORK. There is no money to be made in it. They sell their designs as PDF files to teach others how to make their designs. Now that's where the money is. Some designs sell up to $18.00- $22.00 depending on the complexity. Sell a thousand of those, now you made money. This being said, I guess I'm a show and tell kind of gal. I love to share beauty. I love to decorate people. Every piece I make is made with love. My greatest kick is when someone understands my vision for a piece, and we can both get a kick out of it. God is my creator, he made me, He gave me my talents and helped me develop my skill sets. I am so very grateful for every single client that bought something this last weekend. They acknowledge my God-given talent and encourage me to pursue my art. Thank you all so much. I will probably set up shop again at the Decatur Artisan Market in February. We will see how things go. Once again thank you all!

Hey guys! So all in all the Decatur Artisan Market went very well. I met some incredible artists and was very stimulating to talk shop. I had a blast! Here is what our set up looked like. Keep in mind this is my first and I will get better at this as I go on. Also the pictures taken were done at the end of the event before pack up. So things don't look as tidy as they were when we began.

"Riches" is because there are many elements to my designs. They may cost more to make but they are intricate. 😁

Some people may wonder why I called my company Michetti's Riches. Michetti is my maiden name. My father was Italian.
