Black Hills Sorting and Cutting Club is a non profit organization designed to give the horse enthusiast an introduction to the sport of Ranch Sorting and also Cutting. It is open to singles, families, and all ages and levels.
Team sort practice dates at Tiltrum’s arena near Hermosa- April 14, May 12, June 23 & July 14
Next Sunday the 18th is our practice at the RC Event center. Practice starts at 10 AM. Potluck lunch.
Thars has canceled their Ranch sort for this weekend due to the forecast. It’s is rescheduled for March 23 and 24.
The weather for Sunday will be a little cool but the arena will be warm. We want to make sure to have enough cattle so please comment on the post so we have idea of how many to get. Thank you!

We had a great turnout yesterday for our sort practice and youth jackpot! Buckles were awarded for two places. Thank you to the buckle sponsors - Rushmore Appraisals and Dakota Fluid Power!! Congratulations to the youth!!

We did have a date change from our original posted date from November. There was an oversight so just to clarify our next practice is NOVEMBER 19 at RC Event center.
Our next sort practice will be November 19 at the RC Event Center. We will have two youth jackpots starting at 1:00. 13 and under and 14-17. There will be buckles for both classes. This is the makeup for the Custer County Fair that was in August. Practice will start st 10 am and pot luck lunch as usual.
Practice this Sunday at Tiltrum’s arena. We will have our annual meeting to vote on new board members during our potluck lunch. Sorting will begin at 10am.

The open ranch horse show at the Custer County Fairgrounds tomorrow will start in the grass arena on the south side. The big arena is still too wet.

We hate to make this announcement but we are unable to get cattle for Sunday’s sort so we have to cancel. Our next practices are June 25 & July 16 at Tiltrums.
