Bayview MAGIC
BMAGIC is a convener of community based organizations that serve Bayview Hunters Point children, youth, and families.
BMAGIC's vision is to create and maintain a deeper unified road-map to social change that advances the educational, economic, health and juvenile justice needs of disadvantaged children, youth and their families in Bayview Hunters Point.
The SF Pregnancy Family Village (SFPFV) returns to the Bayview for a “mini” event series, bringing valuable one-stop-shop back to the community. Enjoy clinical services and ultrasound, arts & crafts, free maternity clothing, fatherhood space, free dental screenings, and raffles. All Black pregnant/postpartum SF residents and their families can join.
The event takes place on Saturday, November 9th, from 12pm to 3:30pm at Bayview YMCA - 1601 Lane Street.
Free Lyft rides to the Pregnancy Family Village Events are also available.
Join the fun at the Bayview Children’s Hub.
There will be a Trick-or-Treat on 3rd Street, a Raffle, Arts & Crafts, for ages 0-6 years old.

Join us as you visit participating businesses along 3rd Street between Evans and Carroll Streets to collect Halloween treats.

A family-friendly event with a free pumpkin patch, face painting, free food, making of kites, resources tables, and music by DJ BeatsMe. Bring your kites and have some fun.
Join the Fun, 2nd Annual Kite By the Bay Kite festival. A family-friendly event will feature a free pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, face painting, music by DJ BeatsMe, and free food. People of all ages are invited to bring, borrow, or assemble and decorate kites that will be provided.

Bring the kids out for an evening of trick or treating along 3rd Street with local businesses and organizations.

The African-American Shakespeare Company is hosting Shake The Stage Spooktacular Workshops. Would like to invite young performers to join for a spooky and fun-filled journey into the world of theater every Saturday in October at the Southeast Community Center in Bayview, San Francisco! These workshops are designed for children ages 7-10, offering them a unique opportunity to explore their creativity through Halloween-themed acting and musical theater activities.

Over the years, the MAGIC Programs has worked with many volunteers from outside our organization. We want to recognize those who have assisted us at our summer events, backpack giveaways, Halloween events, and our various holiday events. The Juvenile Probation Commission will meet on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the multipurpose rooms of the Southeast Community Center.
This seminar will focus on the new Juvenile Justice Services Model. Our speakers will include Maria Su, Executive Director of DCYF, Chief Miller, and representatives from Huckleberry Youth Programs, Bay Area Community Resources, the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice, Mission Neighborhood Centers/Inspiring Success, Sunset Youth Services, and Young Community Developers.

Hey community! Here are some family friendly events coming up this weekend.
Free film screening of “The Princess and the Frog” at India Basin Shoreline Park (Hunters Point Blvd and Hawes Street) on Friday, October 4, with activities beginning at 5pm and the screening starting at about 6:30pm. Come out and watch Vernon from BMAGIC emcee the event prior to the movie!
3rd annual D10 Peace Rally on Saturday, October 5th, from 12pm – 3pm at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, hosted by Black to the Future, and D10 Safety Plan. Come out for the food, raffle, prizes, resources, youth performers, and workshops.
Sounds of the Street is holding a concert series and workshop at India Basin Waterfront Park, from 1pm – 4pm, on October 5th and 6th, with Afterthought, ASH/ and SundaY with The Top Chefs, and the Curtis family C-Notes.
To celebrate Halloween, the MAGIC Programs host annual events for youth and their families in Bayview Hunters Point & Fillmore/Western Addition. The events include a Haunted House at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center and the Bayview Trick or Treat Trail along 3rd Street. Both locations encourage participation from local community based organizations and small businesses; by providing kid-friendly activity tables and handing out candy/healthy snacks. These events provide a safe space for our youth to enjoy Halloween, collect candy and the opportunity to build community amongst one another. The Southeast Community Facility Commission has nominated BMAGIC for its commitment and service to the District 10 community of San Francisco for the Outstanding Partner in the Community Award (Organization)! This award honors organizations that provide exceptional service to the Southeast region of San Francisco. The community will vote on the final winners, make sure to submit your vote for us! Come join us on Sunday, October 20th, from 11am to 4pm, at the Southeast Community Center - 1550 Evans Avenue, for competitive fitness activations, Free health screenings, Free wellness services, live entertainment, and an award ceremony recognizing prominent D10 community leaders and partners.
Come out to The Southeast Community Center (1550 Evans Avenue) who is hosting its Fall Bazaar on Saturday, September 21 from 3 to 9 p.m. where local vendors will showcase their goods, crafts and more.
There will be live music, food and a free community movie/sing-along featuring “The Little Mermaid” beginning at 7 p.m.
From 2012-2021, the MAGIC Program in collaboration with community youth organizations to host a Youth Summit for the students in San Francisco. These youth-organized and youth-led summits provided an opportunity for young people to participate in team based learning, leadership development modules and team building; seeking to inform their peers on ways to navigate serious and powerful obstacles and barriers within their community. The youth were supported and guided by adult mentors, aiming to educate the youth on issues that impact them and their peers and to develop long lasting leadership skills. Past partners include: 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic, College Track, BAYCAT, the Bayview Opera House & Community Youth Center. Let us continue to thrive and celebrate 20 years of MAGIC together!
