👀Did you know? Filipinos and Mexicans have a long history of cultural exchange and interrelationships that began during the Spanish colonial period. Filipinos introduced many foods to Mexico, including tamarind, rice, mango de Manila, and coconuts. The cultural exchange continues today, and can be seen especially in places like Acapulco and Colima. From 1565 to 1815, the Manila-Acapulco Galleon trade route connected the Philippines and Mexico, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and ideas.

In fact some of our favorite mezcles are distilled in Filipino stills, a style of still brought to Mexico my Filipinos, very different than the European Alembic still. We will also be pouring special Filipino style style Mezcales for the night!

Leyenda is a female owned and operated bar and we are thrilled to bring over Brujas, an amazing cocktail bar from Mexico City staffed entirely by women and celebrating women within the cocktail industry.

To launch it all off, it just so happens that is coinciding with Mexican Independence Day. To honor this day, we are teaming up with the folks at and and throwing a party! There will be drink specials! There will be Negronis (obviously)! And there will be a great celebration of the Independencia!
