I’d rather talk to you at 4:44 am in the morning than talk at your funeral. Nothing worse than losing a friend because they didn’t think they had anyone to talk to. Phones are on, the doors always open, fires can be lit and coffee can be poured
Support each other. I need eight people to post this message to show you are always there when someone needs you. I have an idea who’s going to write “done”.
WHO ARE MY 8?
Сору / Paste. Be the one

This is me. (Camera) Shy Animal lover and creative person. This last year has had more focus on other things than painting. Hence not so much new work.
I’m very blessed to have the friends I have all over the world, and the amazing support I have gotten with so many parts of my life. I have studied and focused more on personal development, home decorating and lately also Real estate. But wouldn’t be where I am today without some very special people. Grateful❤️ beyond words.

I’m learning to find a new balance and to find peace inside myself, so now I’m finally also able to paint more and more so there will be new work coming.

Dhiaa
Throw back to a drawing of my special heart and soul dog ❤️ the one who’s gotten me through so much.
This dog came to me when I needed a light. Hence his name.
He’s turning 11 in a few months and I cherish every day with him.
This is a pastel pencil drawing on pastel mat.

New Years Eve 2023, painting. Working on myself. The bigger promise to myself for 2024. Keep my eye on what’s important, and paint more again.

Something not horses related. A painting I made of my beautiful nieces and nephew. The down part of living far away from your family is that you can’t see them as much as you like.

Diamanté
Acrylic on canvas 20x20”
One of my favorites. The most amazing queen in a beautiful string of ponies

I am always so honored when people ask me to paint their horses.
These two beautiful boys are finally finished.
Acrylic on cotton canvas, with 18karat gold foil. Both 36x48 inches.

I have to admit that I got mentally stuck in one of them.
I am, as so many other artists, suffering from imposter’s syndrome. And with these it got the better of me for a while. I am in this case blessed with the absolute best customer, who has supported me all the way. I owe her so much ❤️

National Mental Health Day

I’m Not the best best talking about myself on social media, but I do believe that this is a very important thing to talk about.
I fight and have always been fighting depression.
Some of it to do with chronic pain I guess, some .. I don’t know.
Being a creative person I think the art has helped me deal with my feelings, but I also think it’s been benefiting my art to feel so deeply.

I wish that everyone dares to ask for help when needed, dares to open up and ask for help. There are many help lines today but I still think we have a long way to go.
I think we all need to realize it’s actually in all of our hands. We can all open our eyes and be less self centered and actually see when someone needs an extra smile or a moment of your time.

Thank you for the photo and my horse therapy!

I had the honor of painting a portrait of the beautiful polo pony Popcorn.
The painting has finally been gifted so I can share it here.
I am as always so thankful for being trusted to make portraits of loved ones.

A lost Moment, acrylic on linen 21x20 cm

Paard verzameld Challenge time again. This time bringing us back to our childhood and focussing on our safe space, The place that we were happy.
We were to research the relationship horses with children.

The place that was my safe space, my happy place. Was our summer place. On a tiny island with no cars, no shops. Just nature and you.
It was the best place because my dad taught me to paint there, we bonded while painting together
It was also there I was lucky enough to be allowed to care for two Shetland ponies like they were my own.
After my parents help me with them they eventually let me just free. To learn by doing. There was not a day when they did not throw me off or bite me, but i still loved them and I was sad when I grew out of them.
I used to go for a ride when I was sad and just sit on the pony and look out on the ocean. The sea air in our faces.
I chose little more impressionistic approach to symbolize that it’s like a dream now, but also because it was there I watch my dad paint nature scene, and he taught me what Impressionism was.
Thank you Joyce, Paard Verzameld & Horse Museum Foundation for bringing these memories back.

When I work on my paintings, I often work on more pieces at the same time. This way I can step back and take a moment and think on one piece but still keep creative. I find this helps me to not get stuck.
I also sometimes just need to stop and just see the pieces without working in them. Finding my way , mapping out my roadmap.
Every painting is different and I just have to listen to my gut and to the painting to see where I should go.

“Sometimes the people around you won’t understand your journey. They don’t need to, it’s not for them.” Joubert Botha

Do your thing. Dream your dreams. Surround yourself with people that believe in you.
Keep on showing up for yourself, do the work and stay true to yourself.

This… can you smell the leather? Hear the horses? Feel the ride of your favorite horse? The perfect jump.. or the nozzle in your neck.
The horses have given me so much in my life.

In the light - oil on canvas 24x20”Challenge time in the collective !
This time we were faced with tenebrism, and to do it in a monochromatic color pallet. Meaning we start with one color and that is our darkest value, then lighten it up with water (medium) or white.
We had the luxury of a beautiful photo from .gallery as reference. His photo of Adolfo Cambiaso’s B09.
Thank you Joyce Paard Verzameld and Ramon Casares ! For this opportunity ❤️
