Yesterday morning, nearly 300 transition students from 18 different South Carolina schools attended the SCVRD-sponsored Career Exploration Day with the Columbia Fireflies. Participants arrived at Segra Park and heard from multiple Fireflies staff including Dr. Bryan Vacchio, Saluda High School guidance counselor and voice of the Fireflies, who shared that teamwork truly makes the dream work for a Minor League baseball game to be a smashing success.
Students then had an opportunity to traverse the concourse in a ‘career scavenger hunt’ and learn from staff across Segra Park in areas such as Guest Services, Parking, Concessions, and the Mason Jar Gift Shop all before settling into their seats to watch the Columbia Fireflies take on the Charleston RiverDogs.
